PEDER's CLAM CHOWDER

PEDER's CLAM CHOWDER


1/2 Lb Bacon
1 Large Onion
6 Medium Potatoes
1 Large Rutabaga (this makes that extra special taste)
2 Carrots
6 6 oz. cans Clams in their own juice
1 Quart Half & Half
1 Tablespoon Curry
1 Tablespoon Nutmeg
Salt & Pepper to taste

Chop up the onions and the Bacon, and fry it in a pan until the Bacon is crisp and the Onion are translucent
Add the Clam juice, vegetables and spices, and let it simmer until the vegetables are tender, that takes about
15 minutes. Add the Half & Half and let simmer for another 20 minutes.
Serve with salty crackers, this serves 4 persons.
