Commonwealth Secondary School Military Band

Welcome to Commonwealth Secondary School Military Band's Homepage

Commonwealth Secondary School Military band (CMB) was established in 1964. Since then, it has grown to its present strength of about 100 band members, consisting of 2000's Secondary 1s to 4s.

Under the baton of our Residence Conductor, Mr David Anthony Glosz, the Commonwealth Secondary School Military Band took part in both the 1997 and 1999 "Singapore Youth Festival Indoor Band Competition", attaining a silver medal for both the years. Since 1997, the band has performed in several outdoor performances in locations such as the 'World Trade Centre', 'Bishan Park' and 'Toa Payoh Amphitheatre', and held a concert at The Chinese High School Drama Centre on 04 April 1999.

During the end of 1998, our Residence Conductor, Mr David Anthony Glosz brought in Mr Brando Tan, who was also once Mr Glosz's student, to teach us, together with Mr Glosz himself. Since then, Mr Brando Tan had been our Band's Assistant Conductor.

We also went overseas during June 1999 to perform and gain experiences. It was our first trip overseas as a whole Band and the trip to Western Australia, Perth, was a great experience.

A few of our fellow band members will be taking part in the Pacific Basin Music Festival, March 2000, held in Hawaii, together with band members from St Patrick's School, St Andrew's Secondary School and St Andrew's Junior College, as a combine band of Mr David Gloszs'.
