SR 206 begins at Jct US 2 north of Mead and heads east then NE to Mt. Spokane State Park. SR 206 was 15.36 miles long until recently. A new RR undercrossing and straightened approach replaced a grade crossing a half mile or so east of US 2 in late 1999. SR 206 is now 15.30 miles long.
Although this route was added to the state highway system before 1970, it was not given a legislative number. Instead, the highway was given the name Mount Spokane Park Drive in state law.
