State Route 503

SR 503 (trunk)

SR starts at Jct SR 500 at Orchards and heads north via Battle Ground to the vicinity of Yale, then continues west to Jct I-5 at Woodland, where SR 503 ends. In the Brush Prairie area, SR 503 was moved to a new 4 lane alignment in the mid- 1990s. this new alignment includes a new bridge across Salmon Creek. SR 503 is 54.11 miles long.

Before 1964, SR 503 from Orchards to Battle Ground had been SSH 1U and from Battle Ground to Woodland, part of SSH 1S.

SR 503 Spur

SR 503 spur was added to the state highway system effective April 1, 1992. SR 503 Spur starts at Jct SR 503 near Yale and heads upstream along the north side of the Lewis River via the community of Cougar to the Cowlitz/Skamania County line. At the county line, SR 503 Spur ends and National Forest 90 begins. SR 503 Spur is 8.42 miles long.

SR 503 Business Loop

When SR 503 was realigned in the Brush Prairie area, former SR 503 was redesignated as Business Loop SR 503.
