In 1964, SR 527 began at Jct SR 522 in downtown Bothell and headed north via Mill Creek to Jct I-5/SR 526 near Everett Mall. This highway follows the original route of the Pacific Highway. SR 527 was 11.92 miles long.
In 2011 the state legislature removed the section of SR 527 from downtown Bothell north to I-405 from the state highway system. SR 527 is now 9.29 miles long (2020 State Highway Log).
