SSH 7B was added to the state highway system in 1937. This route began at Jct PSH 3 (US 97) on the south side of Ellensburg and headed east to Kittitas, then north, ending at Jct PSH 7 (after 1940, US 10). SSH 7B was dropped from the state highway system in 1953.
