I’m Walkin’ Willie, Republican Chairman of Shoe Leather District. My Vice Chair is Walkin’ Wilma Wright.

We’re proud of our Republican organization, because last year we raised our Republican enrollment by 15%. And this year we plan to do better!

The secret to our success is simple:

LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS AT EVERY DOOR IN THE MOST REPUBLICAN AREAS OF THE DISTRICT!

We Republicans in Shoe Leather District do a great deal of walking because we know that good, well-organized, well-planned, and well-executed door-to-door canvassing is the very best way to:

• Register voters in Republican households who are not registered
• Encourage independents leaning to Republicanism to register as Republicans
• Find and register first-time voters who have turned 18
• Find and register Republicans who have moved to a new location and must re-register
• Reinforce our Republican voter base by showing them that we are out there working, and by getting them to help

Vice Chair Wilma and I thought you might like to get an idea of some of the things we do th make our door-to-door canvassing so effective.

The following pages contain a checklist for your door-to-door efforts. Along the way, I’ll have a few things to add to these time-tested and success-oriented methods.
