Same Old Thing

Have you ever had to do a project with the newspaper or just want to read it for fun? Haven’t you noticed that whenever a new “controversial issue” breaks out they always write about that thing for weeks on end? I think that should change
In Seventh grade language arts, our teacher, Meg, is assigning us all types of newspaper-related assignments. One of the assignments we were assigned was to find a controversial issue and write a paragraph on how we felt about it. With the issues in the paper today, it made it extremely hard to write our paragraphs.
I think the newspaper editors should write about more global stuff other than the really big topics like Haiti. It would be nice if they would write more about other cultures like St. Patrick’s day in Ireland or if people need food in Finland. May be instead of other cultures they could have a mini paper for kids or for projects. Also, they shouldn’t talk about things for weeks and weeks, yes, they could be really important issues but still, they could talk about the “aftershock” of that issue instead. For instance, on 9-11 they were always talking about the trauma of the trade towers, I’m not saying that was not an important issue, but what about the pentagon, I mean lots of people died there too!
I asked some of my friends and family about what they wanted to the newspaper to change. “I want the articles to be shorter, they get boring.” (Bryce Woodcock Age: 13) “I think if the newspapers had more color and different font in their articles.” (Katie Cramer Age: 10) “I would like a prenatal advisory column in the newspaper” (Sally Cramer)
Those are why I think they should change the paper a little bit. Because when you have projects its really hard. Also they should talk about more interesting stuff. Also, I think people want the newspaper to appeal to them more by the means of changing, adding, or even taking away things. Finally I think they should not talk about one thing for a really long time. I hope that our newspaper can cover these things.
