Fellowship was very new to me. I admit. I have been active in the community! I have attended community meetings, volunteered in blanket drives, served food, etc. But I never realized the true rewards of having a fellowship with others whose sole purpose is to know God and make God known.
When I attended the Bible Study for the first time, I recognized that these groups of Filipino Christians have goals in their Christian life. Their goal is to be a part of a family who wants to know God and to let God known. They belong to a church which is like a family to everyone. My first Bible Study with them was so rewarding. The pastor and his wife are so accommodating and I feel I found a family. Not only that I found new friends, but I found a new purpose in my life.
I made a commitment to my self. I will practice fellowship by taking an active part where I can best help with the goal of my newly found family/church. I am discovering where I can best help by recognizing my own spiritual gifts and my natural abilities and by knowing the needs of our church. To be fruitful with my fellowship with my fellow believers, I am making a commitment to help whatever I am called for. I am still discovering my spiritual gifts, and eventually God will call on me to do something special for the church.
