Glenn Quinn
Quinn was born in Dublin, Ireland, where he lived until moving to California at age 19 with his mother and two sisters. He was soon spotted by a casting director who helped him get representation. With no previous acting experiece, A week later Quinn landed his first feature film role as Gwyneth Platrow's boyfriend in the John Travolta coming-of-age feature drama 'Shout'. His audition for 'Roseanne soon followed, with Quinn turning what was supposed to be a one-time guest appearance into a series regular role. While starring on 'Roseanne', he was also tapped for the critically acclaimed medieval drama series 'Covington Cross'. He successfully juggled both jobs at once, which was no small feat considering they were filmed on different continents. Quinn also guest-starred romantically opposite Christina Appelgate on 'Jesse', and made guest appearances on 'Beverly Hills, 90210' and 'The Outsiders', as well as in the television movies 'Call Me Anna; The patty duke story and Silhouette'. On the big screen, Quinn played Cynthia Stevenson's boyfriend in the comedy 'Live Nude Girls' and the heroic beau of Holly Marie combs in the horror thriller 'Dr. Giggles'. He also starred in the relationship drama 'Men'. He then went on to play the much-loved (and much-missed) Doyle in the first nine episodes of Angel. Playing this role won him a legion of new fans. Although in previous roles he had normally been required to disguise his Irish accent, Angel was Glenn’s first US series role where he could speak naturally. On Tuesday, December 3, 2002, Glenn Quinn tragically passed away in North Hollywood at the age of 32.According to Los Angeles Police, Quinn was found deceased at a friend’s home. Detectives say the cause of death has yet to be established, but no there was no foul play suspected.
