Buffy Summers Biography
Buffy Anne Summers was born in January 1981 to Hank and Joyce Summers. As a child, she went through a phase during which she idolized ice-skated Dorothy Hamill, and was close friends with her cousin Celia until she died. Buffy started her high school career at Hemery High in Los Angeles, where she was a popular cheerleader; in 1996 she was elected Prom Princess and Fiesta Queen. That same year, Buffy was contacted by a man named Merrick, who told her that she was the Chosen One, the Vampire Slayer. Though Buffy was skeptical, it was true; Merrick was her Watcher. But Merrick was killed, and in Buffy’s attempts at slaying, she managed to burn down her high school gym. Around that time, Joyce and Hank finalized their divorce, and Buffy moved with Joyce to 1630 Revello Drive in Sunnydale. She enrolled at Sunnydale High School, where the school librarian, Giles, informed her that he was her new Watcher. Though reluctant, Buffy was sucked full force into the life of a Slayer. Buffy became friends with Willow Rosenberg, Xander Harris, and later on to Cordelia Chase, and Willow’s boyfriend Oz, all whom know that Buffy is the Slayer. Buffy developed a relationship with Angel, a vampire cursed with a soul; it ended when he lost his soul, turning him back into his evil vampiric self, but they got back together after his soul was restored again. Ultimately, Angel eventually realized that as Buffy got older, their relationship would be doomed, and he left her for her own good. During her freshmen year at UC Sunnydale, Buffy roomed with Willow and developed a relationship with Riley Finn. After about a year together, Riley left Buffy and Sunnydale, feeling that Buffy didn’t need nor love him. During her sophomore year at college, Buffy survived several family crises; first she discovered that her 14 year-old sister isn’t actually her sister, but is a mystical “Key” just recently turned into human form and placed into Buffy’s life so that Buffy could protect her. Then her mother had a brain tumor removed, to only die from an aneurysm arising as a side affect from her surgery. In the final fight against Glory, a hell god seeking to use the Key, Buffy sacrificed her life to save Dawn’s and the world. However, her friends resurrected her 147 days later, thinking they were saving her from a hell demention, when they were actually pulling her out of heaven. The burden of this experience had affected Buffy greatly, and the only person she could confide in was Spike. As much as she denied that she felt anything towards him, it was clear that their relationship was swiftly developing towards romance. And so after a very musical experience, they had their first kiss! But despite this meeting of lips, Buffy still resisted her feelings for Spike. When Spike discovers that his chip doesn't zap him if he hurts Buffy, he tells her that she came back different, and they beat each other up and then have passionate sex in an abandoned building. Their brief affair is based solely on sex. Buffy breaks it off when she realizes she is using him as an excuse not to deal with some tough issues in her life. Finally, Buffy came to grips with her best friend's, Willow, growing problem with a dependence on magic which climaxed in an all out battle between them. Willow was eventually stopped (by Xander) and Buffy finally realized that earth was not hell and that she wanted to enjoy her life again. Buffy was hired at the new Sunnydale High School as a part-time counselor for troubled students. Working at Sunnydale High gave her the chance to meet the new Principal, Robin M Wood. He seemed to like her, they went out on a date. But it was also the fact that he knew she was the slayer as his mother was on before her. Taking time off her counseling job to prepare for the upcoming battle wasn't easy. With Faith returning to Sunnydale and the potential slayers preferring her, Buffy was swiftly kicked out of her home. Out of her home and down & out, Spike gave her the pep talk she needed. She began her rise to the top again. Led the potentials into battle and won, with Spike's help. Now she's not the only chosen one, she's one among many, ready to lead a normal life.
