Sarah Michelle Geller-Prinze's Biography

Sarah Michelle Geller, 25, was born on April 14, 1977, in New York City. The only child of Steven Geller and Rosellen Geller. When Sarah was four, she was absolutely adorable, with big blue eyes, a button nose, and a megawatt smile. It was that bright, adorable little girl a casting agent spied in a New York City restaurant that day. Sarah’s mom was open to the idea that her only child give acting a shot, and followed up on it. Sarah was cast in her first role soon after, a tv movie called Invasion of Privacy. Sarah’s second showbiz break was even more memorable. The job was for a commercial, and in 1982 it was the first to actually diss a competitor's product. In the Burger King ad, which aired nationally, Sarah was the tike who chided McDonald’s for their “stingy patties.” She then did thirty more commercials for Burger King. Sarah’s first major break came in 1993 when she won a role on the hit tv drama All My Children, where she played Kendall Hart. She was such a success on the show that she won an Emmy (daytime) award in 1995. A couple of years after departing from All My Children, Sarah auditioned for the part of feisty Cordelia on the mid-season replacement show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She didn’t get the role of Cordelia; she was cast as lead. The role helped propel her film career, as she won roles in horror films like “Scream 2” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” for which she won a Blockbuster Entertainment Award in 1998 as Best Supporting Actress-Horror. In 1999, Sarah starred in “Simply Irresistible,” a small romantic comedy that didn’t manage to gain much fame, and the more popular “Cruel Intentions,” based on the French book “Les Liaisons Dangereuses.” In June 2000, Sarah won two MTV Movie Awards for her role as Kathryn in the film: Best Kiss with Selma Blair and Best Female Performance. Though she has a movie career on the up and up, Sarah is still committed to “Buffy,” and has signed on through Season 7 of the Show. She recently finished filming “Harvard Man” and “Scooby Doo” which is in the theaters and “The It Girl” which will be released in the near future. Sarah is close friends with actress Lindsay Sloane, who was a bridesmaid at Sarah's wedding. Sarah got married to actor Freddie Prinze Jr. on September 1, 2002, in Mexico.
