Wishmaster (1997)

In Persia in 1127 AD an evil Djinn holds a Rajah and his court at his mercy until the King’s faithful sorcerer traps the spirit in a gemstone. Cut to the present, where art collector Raymond Beaumont is accepting delivery of a rare stone statue of the Ahura Mazda, a sort of "Security Guard of the Heavens". When the statue is dropped, smashes and reveals the gemstone within, the Djinn’s prison is stolen by a felonious dock worker. The malevolent spirit is accidentally released by Alexandra, the gemologist appraising the stone, and faster than Barbara Eden can blink her eyes he’s off on a killing spree that will bring his wish-granting brethren into our world to start a New Order.
