How to make grama.

How to make Grama, Nelley, Yarthkins, or whatever you want to call these props (but be sure and give them a name!).

What you need:

  • 4' land scape timber, one end cut at a 45°
  • two 12" 2x4's
  • packing wrap (from dumpster behind furniture store)
  • pool noodle
  • burlap
  • exterior latex paint
  • tile grout
  • mask
  • wire, nails, staples, tequila

then take a shot of tequila.

Okay, now for the messy part. Pour the paint into a 5 gallon bucket, dump in some tile grout (about 4 or 5 cups), mix in a little water. Mix well. Cut a piece of burlap for the "skirt" and dip it into the paint, squeeze out all excess. Loosely wrap it around your props waist and secure with wire. Take another shot of tequila. Now cut and dip a smaller piece of burlap and wrap around neck tightly and hang from tree...oh wait, back to the prop. What the heck, have another shot. Wrap it around your props neck and secure ends on back of head. Next cut a larger piece of burlap, about 5'x3', dip and drape over shoulders (the prop's, dummy). Tuck in and around to define arms. Now finish off the bottle and have a conversation with your new friend.
