The cat's name is Mouse's Bane,
It needs no mighty lion's mane.
This cat is full of might,
as it stalks all throughout the night.
Then it spies a mouse to eat--
all he can think is "Bon appetti!"
The mistress in a scare,
jumps up on a chair.
"Get it, get it, please!
Before it gets in my cheese!"
The cat's bodyy like liquid steel,
as it goes after his next meal.
The cat chases his prey,
as ends another day,
the mouse filled with fright,
wishing it weren't night.
The master opens up the door,
hoping they will run out of the store.
The mouse longs to get out the door,
hoping to prolong his life more.
But this will not be,
as anyone can see,
for without a big mess,
his neck the cat did "caress."
