The cavern of spiders is one of our oldest and most requested rooms we have besides the ghostly illusion.
The idea behind the COS is simple everyone hates the feel of cobwebs touching there face (well almost everyone) All you need to do is make a room shaped like in the picture, make the passages about 4-5 foot wide and the entrance way about 4 foot high so most people have to duck to get in. Inside the passages we place tons of strechy webs, fake spiders and bugs and hundreds of strands of twine hanging down all at about 5 foot, the twine hangs to lengths 2 foot off the ground so that they brush against people as they feel there way through the passages. The cave has no lights and we suggest the walls made of plywood and stong enough to be pushed on, then cover them with carpet or foam so no splinters appear. Your crowd will have to feel there way through on there own, i cant tell you how many people would not go through this room, it took alot of coaxing that nothing would hurt them...but you heard them all the way through it "EWWWW something touched my face!" , "AHHH somethings on me!!" , " GET IT OFF!!!" its alot of fun....they also beg alot for the guide to take them through, we just tell them the guide will be waiting on the other side for them hehehehe!
To spice this up add alot of glowing bugs and spiders, and pipe in the sounds of insects and crickets.
