Within a few minutes, I will be moved here! There's still chunks of the site that will remain unmoved cuz they're going to be redone anyway so there's no sense in moving the old versions, but this main page, hockey stuff, stuff about me, and other stuff will be moved, and the rest of it will get there eventually.

I'm sipping my kindertee with the robitussin honey flu stuff that my mom sent me last time I was sick, and I can't quite decide if it's gross or not. Ok for sipping, I guess. The kindertee by itself was good. Using up half a phone card on one of my phone calls to Brandon that always lasts at least an hour is a good treat to put a sick angela in a better mood. Also, he promised to call me back sometime within a month or so. This is good cuz he never emails. And after he finishes Arabic he's going to try to get out of the military and come back to Madison!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! That is unbelievably delightfully good news. Joe! and I have been assigned a mission for his visit- Joe! has to point out cute German boys for me to take pics of for Brandon.

The new Nields songs that I like are even better now that I have actual speakers, not just laptop speakers. Yay cheap Kaufhof puter speakers! In other puter news, it's sounding like my mom wants to keep Vladimir the desktop. That's ok with me cuz she said they'll buy me a new scanner for christmas if I can't get the old one working with this when I get back. Also, then I don't have to deal with trying to sell it. Hehe, my family is going to have a computer for each person- SPOILED! But Dad and Joel always hog the ones they use, so she might as well have Vladimir as her own. Apparently Sadie has taken to sleeping in my bed when she's up in my room talking to me online. I wish I had a little minpin here, but I'll go to bed now anyway because the cold medicine makes me sleepy and I'm just babbling randomly.l

Ok, so what does everyone think of the new picture page format I used on the London pictures? Better or worse than the old one? And should I leave it how it is with one new window popping up and each picture getting displayed in that window, or should a seperate window pop up for each picture?

London pictures are all done!

I hate being sick. It puts me in a bad mood, and I hate being in a bad mood.

I got a small chunk of the gazillion pictures all done... here are most of the pictures from the British Museum.

Ok, I'm a copycat.

1. What is your favorite restaurant and why? I'll say Lao Laan Xang... yummy peanut sauce stuff! It would be tied with an Italian restaurant, but I can't decide which of those is my favorite.

2. What fast food restaurant are you partial to? The baguette shop near the Uni is seriously the best sandwich place in the entire world. Those sandwiches are VERY GOOD! And I think it counts as fast food, you just wait a few minutes while they toast your sandwich. If we're talking chain fast food, I'd have to say Pizza Hut at the moment, because in Bonn it's that or McDonald's. The only good quality of McDonald's is it's the only food place open late at night here.

3. What are your standards and rules for tipping? About 20%.

4. Do you usually order an appetizer and/or dessert? Not often... sometimes if people will split stuff with me. Always if I'm at Ella's though.

5. What do you usually order to drink at a restaurant? At home, water, Mountain Dew, Sprite, or occasionally Diet Coke/Pepsi. Here, water, Sprite, or Coca-Cola Light. (Not "Coke"... that often prompts clueless looks, they don't call it that here.)

And more from Joe! on the subject of genital acrobatics, since it apparently interests Sarah:

(Joe! saw an HBO special on australian penis puppetry yesterday after our convo regarding genital acrobatics when I found the thing about Australian genital acrobats performing in Berlin while looking up stuff to do in Berlin when we're there.)
StormJWI: the penis puppetry was very very scary!!! it was naked guys on stage using their penises to imitate various shapes
TheHallucination: EEEEEEEEEEEEEW!
StormJWI: I can say for sure that we definately don't need to go see that!
TheHallucination: NO!
TheHallucination: NO WAY!
StormJWI: (oh, and these guys on TV were also Australian)
TheHallucination: I figured Aussies were a little odd, what with their veggie-mite and all, but penis puppetry? SCARY!
StormJWI: hehehe

Anyway, I got a ton of stuff done today. Tomorrow I still have to go grocery shopping, but I think I will try to rest/putz with the puter most of the weekend rather than going anywhere, cuz I'm sick again. My mom has ordered me to go to the doctor if I'm not better Monday. Hopefully I will be... I have to be at the Auslandsamt at 5:30 Tuesday morning for a day trip to Luxembourg. That leaving time is hellish, but it should be an interesting trip- one of the things we're seeing is the European Court of Justice.

I'm BAAAAAA-AAAAACK! And trying to figure out my schedule... I don't know if I want to take survey of intn'l economics or history of the civil rights movement. The civil rights movement thing would knock off my last 3 credits of humanities AND my ethnic studies. Since I'm taking food science 120, that would leave me with only 4 credits of science to finish as far as general requirement stuff. I want to take intn'l econ eventually, but it can probably wait. Political World Economy is a better one to take for that requirement anyway cuz it's poli sci and will count for both majors, since I've decided to do intn'l studies and poli sci- poli sci only takes a couple more classes- it could push me over into another semester, I guess, but that may just be wishful thinking- I kinda want four whole years as an undergrad, not 3 1/2. So.... I guess I'm probably taking Food Science 120 (relatively unpainful 3 credits of bio), Political World Economy (required for major and interesting), Intnl Studies 301 (required for major and interesting), and that history of the civil rights movement (humanities and ethnic studies and doesn't sound tooooooo boring).

Spain was great. The trip was an adventure from the very start, with our first train running late enough to make our first two transfers veeeeeery close. But we did make our night train from Strasbourg to Paris and I slept pretty well on the train. Then we spent Saturday hiking in Port Bou and it was beautiful. We got the train to Barcelon that evening and got to Ashley's friend's apartment, and spent the next two days seeing Barcelona, which was fantastic. Antonio Gaudi is an amazing architect who ought to be resurrected to build me a house. His houses and church and park are sooooo beautiful, they're colorful and amazing and look like they're from a fairytale. I have many pictures which will be up eventually. The ocean was great too, and we went to Museu Picasso which was cool.

(This is taking forever to write due to convos with Joe! re: his trip to Germany and plans for it:

TheHallucination: eeeep! SCARY! "Puppetry of the Penis
Die Meister der australischen Genitalakrobatik"
StormJWI: LOL!!!
....
TheHallucination: I think we can skip the travesty shows and genital acrobatics.
StormJWI: awww no genital acrobatics!?! I'm sooo disappointed! lol
StormJWI: especially since it's australian genital acrobatics!
TheHallucination: I am not going to a penis puppet show with you!
TheHallucination: Not even an Australian one!
.....
StormJWI: picturing penises doing backflips and such....
TheHallucination: SCARY!
TheHallucination: EEEEW! Like gonads and strife in the weee video!
StormJWI: LOL!!! yes!!!
StormJWI: and in german!
StormJWI: I wonder if there would be any killer condoms...
TheHallucination: If it was actually like the weee video only with killer condoms, that could be really funny.
StormJWI: I'm guessing it would be a comedy

THIS TRIP IS GOING TO BE GREAT! There will be no genital acrobatics, but there will be Joe! visiting Bonn and then going with me to Berlin and Muenchen!!! Or possibly me meeting Joe! in "Kalf" aka Calw and then going to Muenchen, Berlin, and then back to Bonn for the weekend, depending on if Joe! is sposed to visit his dad's company in Kalf/Calw.)

Ok. Anyway. Spain. The train from Barcelona to Madrid Monday night sucked and I barely slept... no one else slept real well, so we were all worn out the whole time in Madrid after such busy days in Barcelona and then no sleep. Even if I had been well rested, I don't think I would've liked Madrid as well as Barcelona. Barcelona is big but nice... Madrid is HUGE. And not quite as pretty. We did go to the Prado, which was worthwhile, and I ended up randomly taking lots of pictures of dogs in famous paintings. We also went to another museum, the name of which I forgot, which had some great Picasso stuff and some Dali stuff. Then we had a hellish 25 hour train trip back to Bonn because we just said to get us on the cheapest route back to Bonn with space left and ended up with Madrid to Hendaye to Paris to Mannheim to Bonn.

Now, I'm back. I'm very tired and have a sore throat and I'm determined to get back to resting and eating somewhat decently and not end up sick again.

I discovered a veeeeeery yummy Spanish thing, tortillas de patatas. They're sort of a potato omlette thing, eaten warm by itself or cold in a sandwich and it's super yummy either way. I want to learn to make it. Nuria left leftovers of that once for me when I was babysitting Alejo last summer, but I didn't know what it was called. I wish I still had Nuria's email, I'd email her for the recipe, but I can find it online. Also, I've concluded that coffee is indeed good as long as there's some milk or cream in it and a whole lot of sugar. This is good because my preferred source of caffeine, Mountain Dew, is not something I've seen here. I heard one guy commenting that there's probably about six cans of Mountain Dew in all of Germany. I'm not sure how one would reach that conclusion, but I do love Code Red Mountain Dew. Anyway. Bedtime for the very tired Angela. Goodnight!

I just talk to Ashley, apparently our train leaves at 4:13 and not 2:30 like I'd though. Not suprising that I'd mixed it up, we only changed plans about a million times. So, this unfortunately gives me another two and a half hours or so before I need to leave for the Hauptbahnhof to sit in my room and be fidgety and eat too much easter candy. Actually, I need to go to an atm and get batteries and I could stand to eat something other than pbj and chocolate, so maybe I will go downtown and take care of the batteries and atm thing WITHOUT all my stuff with me, and get a sandwich, and come back here for my stuff. At this point I'm pretty much thinking out loud on my webpage so maybe I ought to shut up.

The German test went fine. I have been trying to think Spanish, get it back in my head since I haven't taken it in so long, but there is oh so very much German in my head now. I am only just realizing how much better my German has been getting since I've been living here. I can still understand a lot of Spanish if I read it. However, I think people will have to speak slowly and simply for me to understand, and talking is going to be hard as much of my word order and vocab is in German mode- the Spanish has been forgotten, and I'm only hoping it'll come back. We should be ok without speaking Spanish, I hope, but I feel like I should try. It's like I have two language modes, English and foreign language, and right now the foreign language is pretty much stuck on German. Now, I am going to leave pretty soon to go downtown and hang around waiting for my train. cuz I'm going to go crazy just sitting in my dorm room. I'll be pretty much out of reach for the next week, so BYE!

So, I can't even procrastinate effectively. If I'm not going to study, I should fuss with my webpage or read seven up. But I am going to study, so I'm not doing those things, except I'm not really studying much either.

I can't wait to leave, concentrating on study for that exam is really difficult. Especially since I don't think it will be all that hard. I will try to study again in a bit, really I will. I got a kickass easter package from my mom today, chocolate and chocolate-peanut butter and Monty Python and the Holy Grail on DVD!!! Monty Python and a large chocolate rabbit filled with peanut butter can really really make your day. There's a bunch of Monty Python fans here so we should have a Monty Python watching party when everyone gets back from their vacations.

I AM SO EXCITED! I AM GOING TO SPAIN ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON! Barcelona and Madrid. I am so thrilled!!! The train tickets were kinda expensive- I actually got cheaper airfare to London. But the hostels will be cheap, so that's ok, and in Barcelona we might actually be staying with someone's friend so that's free. Plus, I just talked to my parents online and they were totally ok with me having charged train tickets and planning to charge hostels... I am paying my tuition and rent for this Bonn program myself cuz I always pay tuition/fees and it just ended up being easier for me to pay the rent here than have them do it, so they're now willing to pay for more travel stuff, it seems. Yay! I am just SOOOOOO EXCITED! Argh, and I need to try and sleep soon. Ok, I have a gazillion things to do before leaving for Spain in less than 48 hours, including a final exam, so I have to go. Setting up www.thehallucination.com is going to have to wait til my return!

Ok, so sometimes Germany sucks, but sometimes I really like it here. Like when I'm all proud of myself over accomplishing stuff auf deutsch. I have a coffee cake in the oven right now for our class breakfast tomorrow, and I managed to get all the stuff for it at the store even though I realized I couldn't find baking powder and didn't know the German word for it- I said something along the lines of "I can't find something. I'm cooking a cake. This goes in the cake and the cake goes higher" while making gestures trying to indicate that this was to make the cake rise, and the store lady helped me find it. I'm pretty sure it's the right stuff- we'll see how the cake turns out. So maybe I sounded dumb, but I got what I needed. Then, I have been chatting with people on my floor auf deutsch while cooking. I am very proud of myself today! Hopefully the cake will turn out and this will not change. If the cake doesn't turn out... well... I tried.

So. I think I'm going to go looking for domain names and web hosting now.
