The Wharf
Page 1
Santa Barbara's waterfront is dominated by Stearns Wharf.
It was built in 1872 by J. P. Stearns.
Over five million people visit the Wharf annually.
It is the longest, and oldest working wooden wharf in California, with a variety of small shops, restaurants and the Sea Center.
NOTE: The fire in 1998 destroyed part of the Wharf, including Moby Dick Restaurant and the SB Shell Fish Company. The rebuilding is on the way.

At the entrance of Stearns Wharf you find the famous dolphin fountain.
The same fountaincan be found in Santa Barbara's sister city
Puerto Vallarta.
A parking tollbooth is situated there as well, to control the flow of vehicles that drive on the Wharf.
Walking on the wharf is a pleasure.
In the center you see the Harbor Restaurant, on the right is Moby Dick.
Another popular place is a type of fast food place called SB Shellfish Company.
