Bible Genealogy

Throughout the bible, there are long lists of names. These list can be quite boring and tedious to read at first glance. In fact, these list of names are very important to the Jewish culture and to Christians. Genealogy is a record of a person's ancestors. The genealogy records in the Bible make the characters more real to the reader. These are REAL people, with REAL problems, REAL miracles, REAL healings, etc. Even more importantly they are the ancestors of the divine, but human Jesus Christ. It was very important for a man to have sons so his lineage would not die out. Examples of geneology records are:
