The Appaloosa Distance Ride Organization promotes and recognizes registered Appaloosas (including N/C papered Appaloosas) in distance riding in the Midwest. This recognition begins by being could citizens of the Midwestern Distance Riding community.  Several of our members are involved in may national, state and regional distance riding associations.

ApDRA  hosts an AERC, UMECRA, and ApHC sanctioned competitive and endurance ride once per year.  This distance ride is in its 29th year in the Midwestern Region and is held in at the wonderful Southern Kettle Moraine Park in Palymra, Wisconsin.

ApDRA sponsors a Hi-Scoring and First Appaloosa award at UMECRA sanctioned rides in both the competitive and endurance ride divisions.  These certificates can be turned in for cash for all ApDRA members.  Each certificate is worth $3.00 and can be applied to any purchase of merchandise that you fancy!

ApDRA takes great pride in better informing people as to what distance riding is about.  We continue to support and promote youth in distance riding, we hold distance riding clinics every other year; switching years with the Distance Riding Association of Wisconsin.  We believe in mentors for new rides and offer our encouragement and support for anyone interested into making it to and through their first ride.

ApDRA continues to suggest, recommend and promote the national Appaloosa Horse Club in its distance programs and saddle logging programs.  We encourage and promote the breeding of Appaloosa's that are suitable for distance riding.
