Guess What?? I'm Two Years Old!!

My birthday is in April, on the thirteenth of the month. And....this year, my birthday was on Friday the 13th! Mom says some people are superstitious about that day, but I know for sure that it's just silly talk because Friday, April 13th, MY SECOND BIRTHDAY, was a super spiffy day for me!

It all started really, really early on that morning when my dad got home from work.. mom and dad gave me my birthday presents! Besides a nice new rawhide chewy bone, I got some really tasty dog treats that are good for me too! You can't beat something that tastes good, and it's a plus when it's good for you too! I opened my packages, then dad had me practice the "put the treat on Cody's nose and make him wait for it" trick. It's hard to do sometimes, but I'm getting so I can balance almost anything on my nose. When I'm told "OK", I toss it up in the air and catch it! Mom and dad always laugh when I do that.

Mom and dad both wished me Happy Birthday many times, and they really made me feel special all day. I did have to supervise while they did some raking in the yard, but I'm the best supervisor you've ever seen.

After we got done with the yard work, we went for a ride in dad's truck. I had no idea where I was going, since I don't go for rides very often. But....since it was my special day, they took me to a special place. We went to McDonald's for my birthday supper!! I think the people at McDonald's must have known it was my birthday, because when we drove up to the drive-through window, a man handed out food! We parked the truck and mom opened the bag that had my birthday supper in it. It was really yummy! I had something called a Happy Meal, and they sure have that one named right, because I was one happy dog while I was eating my meal! It had a hamburger and french fries.... and boy, was it good! I sat on the seat between mom and dad, and mom helped me with my food. She made four little hamburgers out of the big one. She said she did it so there might be a chance I'd actually taste the food while I was eating it. I have NO idea what she meant by that remark. I sat very politely and didn't grab for any of my food, (or anyone else's) and I waited until mom gave me each piece. Although I was glad to share, I think mom ate some of my french fries when I wasn't looking!

The best part of my birthday supper was the fact that McDonald's actually gives you a birthday gift too! It came with my Happy Meal, and I'm proud to tell you that I am now the owner of a Spy Phone! If I knew any spies, this would be just the thing to call them with.. it even has a button that mom pushes to make it ring. I'm not too crazy about that feature, because I think it's the real phone ringing, and it gets me confused. But I'm not going to complain to the nice people at McDonald's about it though....it's just nice of them to give me a birthday gift!

It was such a good birthday for me...
It's good to be TWO!

This is my very own hat, but it doesn't photograph very well
