Fire In the Branches of My Family Tree

* To set the stage...the background music is "All Is Quiet On The Potomac" A song from the times of the War Between the States...

All of you who have come here to visit me know that my name is Cody. What you may not know, is that I have a middle name. My middle name is Sherman, so that makes my full name Cody Sherman Nix.
Now my middle name was not chosen on a whim... it was a very important decision, and my human sister and my nephew, (her son David), chose my middle name. The reason being that mom has lots of relatives named Sherman. One of them being General William Tecumseh Sherman, a famous general in the War Between the States, which was fought looooooong before anyone ever thought about me writing webpages. Now, as I understand, depending on where you live in the United States, determines how much you might like General Sherman. If you live in the North, he was a hero, because some of his war strategies determined the outcome of the war.

But..... if you live in the southern part of the United States... well, those people are still holding quite a grudge against my uncle William T....and well they might, as it seems my uncle W.T.'s main idea for winning the war was to set fire to and burn everything in his path on his famous march to the sea.

My mom has a friend that she has known a long time. She has never seen this friend, but still they know each other. Mom met her friend soon after she entered this place called cyberspace. Her friend's name is Char, short for Charlene, and although I know what Char's last name is, it would not seem good sense to my growing, yet still rather small puppy brain to tell all of you what it is.
We Chocolate Labs are like that.
Since I came to live with my parents, Char offered to become my Aunt Char. I send emails to her sometimes, and she has attempted to assist in my upbringing.
Anyway, the two stories DO have something to do with each other, in case you think I'm just rambling on and on.

Now this is where these two stories tie together.

My Aunt Char:

Lives in Texas.
Was raised in the South.
Knows about General Sherman's march to the sea.
Does not like General Sherman very much.
Has a birthday on the 4th of July.
Thinks there is a little too much Sherman blood in my ancestry.
Worries that I may play with fire, like my illustrious Uncle William T.

I tease her alot, knowing that she doesn't care much for my name, and she, in turn has done her best to keep me on the straight and narrow as far as fire is concerned... because after all, she doesn't want a Chocolate Lab playing with matches...

Chocolate melts at low temperatures.

Aunt Char sent me an email a long time ago, warning me not to play with fire. I sent her something in reply to her email.
It kind of turned into a funny story in the end.. so if you would like to see everything that happened, you can Start right hereto see the first page I sent her, and follow the chain of events.
