How to play Chess (A beginners guide)
First, let me say "I'm NO Bobby Fischer"! And if you don't know who that is, then this is the page for you.
Chess is played with thirty-two men, each player having sixteen men of opposite colors.
Each player has one King, one Queen, two Bishops, two Knights, two Rooks, and eight Pawns. (We'll discuss the pieces in a moment)
The game is played on a checkered board divided into 64 squares in two colors. Place checkerboard between players so that each player has a white corner at their right hand corner of the board.
At the start of the game, the men are arranged as shown in the picture above. The game is started by the player with the white pieces moving first.
