BURKE STRIPPED OF ALL-STAR TITLE...
Burke was awarded the title on a controversial disqualification on 9-24-1981 at the Maple Leaf Gardens when then champion Mark Lewin inadvertantly tossed Burke over the top rope.
A rematch between Burke and Lewin for the vacated title has been ordered by WCFL President Ramblin' Wreck and will take place on 10-9-81 in Vancouver, B.C.

CANADIAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OUT OF ACTION...
Mosca is expected to miss four to six weeks and his reign as champion is now in jeopardy. Maple Leaf President Frank Tunney says that he is waiting to make an announcement about the status of the Canadian Heavyweight Title pending Mosca's recovery, but adds that if Mr. Mosca is not able to defend the title within 30 days that he will be forced to strip the popular champion of his title belt.
Mosca is recovering and in good spirits but his return will ultimately be left up to a doctor's opinion says President Tunney. Mosca's remaining contractual obligations will be taken up by Blackjack Mulligan, who sucessfully defended the title on Mosca's behalf against Bobby Duncum last Monday night in Toronto. Mulligan will not be permited to defend the title for Mosca in the future, however, "I felt that allowing Mulligan to defend on Mosca's behalf was the right thing to do on Monday night. I base my decision on the manor which the champion Mr. Mosca was injured and also on the fact that three title matches had been advertised to take place. I will not allow Mulligan to defend the title for Mosca in the future." says Tunney.

The event will also be a celebration of the efforts of Maple Leaf Wrestling President Frank Tunney, who has been a vital part of wrestling's storied history in the Gardens since day one!
Already signed for this one of a kind event are Ric Flair, Harley Race, Andre the Giant, the Sheik and a WCFL World Title defense by who ever happens to be champion at that time. Also look for some special appearances by some of the individuals that have made the Gardens a very special place to be a wrestling fan over the years.
MAPLE LEAF WRESTLING SIGNS A FAMILIAR FACE TO KEEP ORDER...
Tunney, who's official title is now that of President of Maple Leaf Wrestling, has been promoting wrestling in the Toronto area since the 1930's and still owns exclusive rights to hosting wrestling events in the Maple Leaf Gardens.
"It just didn't seem right to be running a promotion in this area without Mr. Tunney's involvement" said Psychosem. "While we did have a working agreement allowing the WCFL to use the Maple Leaf Gardens, I felt that simply wasn't enough. This new position should be able to fully utilize Mr. Tunney to the best of his abilities."
The new president wasted no time at his new job. Immediately after taking office he finalized several matches for the big Maple Leaf Garden's show set for August 31st, including the show's main event: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair -vs- Harley Race.
"After Mr. Race inturupted Mr. Flair on our television program last week, I felt that this match had to be signed" Tunney said. "There is a lot of pride on the line in this one. Mr. Flair wants to prove that he is worth all of the fan fare that he has recently recieved, while Mr. Race wants to prove that he is still, indeed, the best in the business. This one should be something special."

WCFL CHAMPIONS COMING TO MAPLE LEAF WRESTLING!!!
 Wednesday August 22-TORONTO CANADA-Toronto promotor, Psychosem is pleased to announce that both the WCFL World's Heavyweight and World's Tag Team Champions will be travelling through the area in the very near future. WCFL Tag Champs The Minnesota Wrecking Crew of Ole and Gene Anderson will be appearing at the September 17th card in Buffalo, New York and WCFL Heavyweight Champion Dusty Rhodes is scheduled to be competing at the October 8th card in London, Ontario, Canada. No challengers have been named as of yet, but Psychosem says to expect the big Maple Leaf Garden show to provide some answers. _____________________________________________________________________

10-02-81: Leo Burke was stripped of the Vancouver All-star Canadian Heavyweight title on Monday in a official decision by the WCFL Board of Directors.
09-27-81: Canadian Heavyweight Champion Angelo Mosca suffered cracked ribs and other internal injuries at the hands of King Kong Bundy, Bobby Duncum and Barry Orton on the 24th in Toronto.
It was announced earlier today that Maple Leaf Wrestling will be celebrating fifty years in the famed Maple Leaf Gardens on November 19, 1981. Fifty years to the day that the first wrestling card was held in the Gardens.
Maple Leaf Wrestling promotor PsychoSem announced earlier today that he had signed legendary Toronto wrestling figure head Frank Tunney to help with the day to day operations of Maple Leaf Wrestling.
