.:: Billy Dee is seen walking backstage at a TNT Wrestling
non-televised live event. He is dressed in a pair of jeans, a leather
jacket with a white T-shirt underneath, a pair of black casual walking shoes,
and is carrying a gym bag with him. He turns into a room. He opens
the door and walks in. This is a lockerroom, and he walks to the opposite
side of the ring and takes a seat on the bench. He places his bag next
to him on the bench. He stands up for a moment, takes off his jacket
and hangs it up on a hook behind him. Suddenly a cell phone begins
to ring. He turns behind him and takes a cell phone out of his pocket.
He presses the button and answers the phone. ::.
BD: Hello?
.:: Dee stands his with a look of confusion on his face. ::.
Hello?
.:: Dee stands there and this time has a look of increasing frustration
on his face. ::.
Hello!?!
.:: Dee waits a moment, then hangs up the phone. As he hangs
up the phone Cole Matthews walks into the room with a microphone in hand.
Dee turns and puts the phone back into his jacket pocket. ::.
CM: Who
is that you were talking to?
I don't know.
The phone rang and no one was on the other end. That'll teach
me not to want to pay for call display.
Ha! Ha! Think you might
be up for a few words Billy?
Sure thing Cole.
All right great. Just let me get myself sorted out here.
.:: Cole directs the cameraman to the optimum place for filming an
interview in this room. Dee stays where he is as he watches Cole work
his magic. Cole then stands next to Dee. The cameraman gives a
countdown with his hands. 3... 2... 1... Then Cole begins.
::.
This is Cole
Matthews here with TNT Wrestling rookie Billy Dee. While Billy is a
rookie here in TNT Wrestling, he has been wrestling like he's knows what
he's doing. He has an undefeated record here in TNT Wrestling, and
had a very impressive victory in his last match against the UWA Television
Champion, Steve X-Treme. This week he hasa match against another man
from the United Wrestling Alliance, he is an established wrestler that is
well respected there. This man is K-Nyne. Billy, you have said
a few words about K-Nyne already, and he has said some things about you as
well.
Well, I just learned not too long ago
that K-Nyne has not been very successful as of late. He has lost his
last two matches, and they were both very important matches. He lost
a match to Kevin Cosmos for a shot at the UWA Television Champion, Steve X-Treme.
Steve is a man that I beat at October Terror. He also lost a
match for the Tag Team Titles. Those are two devastating losses for
him, and they are two losses that will get him fired up. They will get
him pumped, they will get him inspired, and they will get him angry. They
will make him want this victory even more than he would want a win in any
regular match. He has a lot riding on this match. He has a two
match losing streak he wants to break, and he also has the reputation of
the UWA to uphold. He doesn't want UWA looking weak, and this is a
chance to him to redeem himself by beating a TNT Wrestling wrestler. He
can redeem some confidence in himself, and some confidence from the rest of
the wrestlers in the UWA that he can get the job done when it is on the line.
In this match for him, it is all on the line.
It is interesting to get an analysis of what K-Nyne has riding on this match
from your point of view Billy, but now I'd like to know what you have riding
on this match?
Well, I suppose that while K-Nyne has
a lot riding on this match, I have just as much, if not more than him riding
on it. I don't want to take anything away from the pressure K-Nyne has
on himself for this match, but I have at least as much as him, and probably
more riding on this match. While K-Nyne needs this win, he is an established
wrestler, and losing a match isn't going to hurt his respectability in the
back. On the other hand, I am a rookie in TNT Wrestling. If I
lose matches early on, the breaks that I want to happen for me won't happen
quite as quickly as I want. If fact, they might not even happen at all.
I could be viewed right from the very start as a guy who can't win
matches. I might be viewed as a guy who is an easy win, and people won't
even think twice about me when it comes to title shots. If I don't
win now, people will forever see me as a loser, no matter how much I change,
or no matter how much better I get, and no matter how many matches I win.
I will be pegged, and I won't get those chances. I need to win
this match to prove my worth to TNT Wrestling. I will be making TNT
Wrestling an all of its fans proud if I win on Sunday at Mayhem. This
will be in TNT Wrestling territory, and I expect to use the homefield advantage.
I expect that if I lost in a UWA setting, it might be a little easier
to forget about it, but on home turf, the people won't forget, and they'll
make sure I don't.
It is well known that both TNT Wrestling
and UWA wrestlers are very loyal to their own company. The people of
TNT Wrestling will fight for TNT Wrestling, and the people of the UWA will
fight for the UWA. K-Nyne has expressed that he is no different. He
believes UWA is better than TNT Wrestling, the same way you claimed TNT Wrestling
is better than the UWA.
Well, I haven't changed my mind on that front. I still believe TNT
Wrestling has the better talent, and I believe that TNT Wrestling will come
out on top in this battle. I believe that TNT Wrestling has better wrestlers
than the UWA, and we will prove it. Hell, we have already proven it.
We proved it when TNT won most of the matches at October Terror, and
we'll continue to prove it as the weeks and months go on, depending on how
long this feud goes on. This feud is the most important in the histories
of both UWA and TNT Wrestling. This isn't about matches and titles
anymore, this is about pride. This is about fanbase, this is about
money. Whoever wins this battle will be viewed as the ultimate, and
number one wrestling company. Who wants to watch second best when the
best is just a couple of channels away? Nobody. Everyone wants
to see the best, and whoever wins will be the best. Whoever wins, will
get the fans, and will get the money, and the other will struggle. That
is why I have to win on Sunday at Mayhem. TNT Wrestling has become my
new home, and they are giving me an opportunity of a lifetime. If I
don't win, I'll be letting everyone down, from the wrestlers, to the fans,
to the people wearing the suits. This is a war that will not be won
over night, but will be the most important win in the history of professional
wrestling.
Thank you for your time today Billy.
Do you have anything else you'd like to say to the fans or to K-Nyne?
Yes I do as a matter of fact. I want K-Nyne to know that while I might
be new to TNT Wrestling, I have just as much talent as anybody else on this
roster. I have just as much potential as any other rookie to ever join
TNT Wrestling. He is probably underestimating my skills the same way
everyone else has so far. I can't wait to take K-Nyne to town, and I
can't wait to put down the UWA. TNT Wrestling took a chance with me,
and I won't let them down. This is my new home, and I plan on putting
forth my best, and winning at Mayhem on Sunday.
Thank you again Billy.
No problem Cole, any time.
.:: Cole lowers the microphone
and directs the cameraman to start packing up his things. ::.
Thanks again for that time man, it really is appreciated.
Good luck to you on Sunday. I've seen you wrestle only a couple
of times, but you've got something special, and I think people are starting
to see that. You've got what it takes to beat K-Nyne, you've just got
to do it.
Thanks Cole. I know I've got it,
I just need to get out there and prove it. I can't wait.
I've gotta take off, but I'll see you
around.
Yep, later.
.:: Cole and the cameraman walk out the door and into the hallway.
Dee sits back down on the bench and starts to untie his shoes to get
himself ready for the show. As he does this the scene fades to black.
