.:: Billy Dee is seen walking through a field.
In the background a playground can be seen with children playing on
the swings, the slides, the monkey bars, and all the rest. The is a
baseball diamond not too far behind either with a few kids playing baseball
behind him. There is also an outdoor rink and a soccer field close
by. Dee is wearing a leather jacket with his hands in his pockets,
a pair of blue jeans and his boots. His breath can be seen on this
clowdy day as he breathes. He continues to walk along a path with green
grass on either side, and leaves fallen from the trees nearby scattered across
the path and across the field. Dee continues to walk with his head
down, then he looks up at the camera and begins to speak. ::.
This is where
I grew up. This is a park in Dorval, Quebec. It is right down
the street from where I lived when I was a child, and this is the park I
used to play at every day after school and all the time on the weekend. I
would come here with my friends and we'd play baseball on the diamond, we'd
play hockey at the rink, we'd play soccer on the field and use our jackets
a goal posts because back then there were no posts. I used to love
playing with my friends, and pretending that I was a professional athlete.
Back then I was only dreaming about becoming a professional athlete.
I'd pretend I was playing hockey at the old Forum in Montreal, and
I'd pretend I was playing baseball at Olympic Stadium. Those were some
of the greatest days I could ever remember.
.:: Billy Dee looks around
back and forth, then continues to speak. ::.
And while those were great days of dreaming, the days I remember the most
were the days my friends and I would go to the playground and pretend
to be professional wrestlers. We would each pick our favourite wrestler
and we'd pretend to wrestle at the Montreal Forum. We'd roll around
the dirt, we'd jump off the slides, we'd try and recreate our favourite matches
we'd see on TV. Even when I was a young boy, becoming a professional
wrestler was what I always dreamed of doing. It was something that
I have been obessed with ever since my childhood. It was a great obsession,
and it was a great dream. I'd dream someday of becoming the World Champion,
and I'd imagine standing in the middle of the ring holding the belt high
over my head with the fans cheering and chanting my name. These are
all things that used to be dreams, and they are now a very possible reality.
.:: Billy Dee puts his hands
over his mouth and breathes on them to try and warm them up, then he continues
to his dialogue. ::.
Becoming a professional wrestler was always my dream, but becoming the World
Champion was my ultimate goal. This Sunday night at Mayhem I have a
chance to take the first step in fulfilling my ultimate dream. I understand
that no one can enter a company like TNT Wrestling and be good enough for
a World Title shot, but I've only been here for a few weeks, and I already
have TV Title shot, and this is more than I could have hoped for this early
in my stay. This just shows me that the people in the back have some
kind of confidence in my ability, and I will prove to them that their instincts
are correct. I will prove to them that I am everything they think I
am, and I'll prove that I am even more. When they signed me I'm sure
they thought I was a risk. I'm not the biggest guy, and big often wins.
It doesn't always though. Sometimes speed wins, sometimes intelligence
wins, and sometimes skill wins. I like to think that I have all three
of those attributes, and that will make me a success here in TNT Wrestling.
.:: Billy Dee takes his hand
out of his pocket and runs it through his hair, then continues. ::.
Like I said before, this is the first step to my ultimate goal of becoming
World Champion, this match on Sunday night against Xander Kross. This
match for the TNT Wrestling Television Championship. It should be a
terrific match as I can tell that Xander is ready for this match. I
saw him preparing this week and I've heard what he's had to say. He
is focused mentally and physically, and he in confident. It's funny
how many people can win matches simply on confidence. If you believe
in yourself, then almost anything is possible, and I can tell Kross believes
in what he says when he says he can beat me. The only problem for him
is that I am confident too. I don't doubt that I'll get in that ring
and take a beating from him. I don't doubt he will pound me into the
mat and try to beat me into submission. That is something I am mentally
and physically prepared for. I have taken great beatings before and
come out on top. I have also given great beatings before and come out
on top. This title means a lot to both of us, and it should be a great
match.
.:: Billy Dee takes a deep
breath before continuing. ::.
Now I don't know what Kross has up his sleeve for this match. I don't
know what he has planned as far as stratagy goes, but I do know that he wants
this to be a clean match, and I respect that. I respect that and what
he has done and I won't take him lightly, just as he said he won't for me.
But Xander, that's the way I like it. When you force me to raise
my game, I will raise it, and I will raise it above yours. I still
haven't reached my peak, and with every match that goes by I am coming closer
and closer because I'm being forced to raise my game. I will do the
same on Sunday night, and I will take away a title that as you accurately
said Xander, it does mean a hell of a lot to me. Xander, I look forward
to this contest, and I wish you the best of luck on Sunday.
.:: Billy Dee walks past
the cameraman as the cameraman stops and pans to see Dee walk past. He
continues to walk down the path of the park as the scene fades to black.
