Amy Dumas arrived in World Wrestling Entertainment in the year 2000 where she was paired with Essa Rios. Amy showed her fearlessness by mimmicking Rios' moves like the moonsault and the huricanrana, both high offense moves.After splitting from Rios, Amy Dumas, known as Lita, found a place in the WWE along side Matt and Jeff Hardy/ The tio became known as Team Extreme. Lita captured the Womens Championship and revolutionized the womens division with her no fear attitude and sex appeal. She became a huge hit in the company, capturing the hearts of the female fans and gaining the attention of the male fans. As the "Lita Chants" began to fill the arena, Amys dream to become a professional wrestler really hit a reality. In mid 2002, a serious neck injury put the beautiful Amy Dumas on the shelf thus taking Lita with her for more than a year. The seriousness of the injury didn't stop Amy as the Lita in her wouldn't stop fighting to get back from this injury. While Amy Dumas knew in her heart she would be back in the ring, peices of her knew she may never be the same Amy Dumas ever again. She also knew Lita would not be the same again. However, when she returned in September of 2003, she returned with a fire under her. She may have lost momentum and the love of the sport from her injury but she never lost the love and support from her adoring fans. As I watched Lita through early 2004 until September of 2004, I feel that Amy Dumas lost confidence in her own abilities. I can't confirm that but I think. she was scared to injure her nack again. She was invovled in a love triangle involving Matt Hardy and Kane and was also carrying Kanes child. After losing her baby, Lita returned to the ring to extract revenge her enemy Trish Stratus. Her return to the ring brought a new arsenal of moves including the most beautiful DDT I have ever seen. Her quest to get back on top peaked in December of 2004 when she battled Trish Stratus on Raw for the Womens Championship. I have been watching wrestling for over 15 years and that night showed the most scary moment I have ever seen. It invovled Lita preforming a suicide dive and landing on her surgically repaired neck. She almost killed herself that night but walked out with the Womens Championship. Her reign lasted a month as she was defeated by Trish Stratus in Janaury of 2005. Amy also went down to another serious injury as she tore her ACL and needed knee surgery.
Recently, Lita went to a darker side as she turned heel and joined forces with the equally evil Edge. Dispite her change in heart, Lita is as confident as ever and just as gorgeous as she has ever been. amy Dumas has also written her own book "Lita: A Less Traveled R.O.A.D. -- The Reality of Amy Dumas". It is one hell of a read.
