Billy Kidman is one of the elite Superstars spearheading the resurgence of the cruiserweight division in WWE. While he is an experienced and methodical mat technician, Kidman is also known for his quickness and aerial expertise. One look at his Shooting Star Press is enough to realize that Kidman has the explosiveness to make a big mark in sports entertainment.
Kidman gained fame in WCW as a key member of several strong factions. In addition to being a member of Raven's Flock, Kidman was also a member of the Filthy Animals and later the New Blood. As a member of these groups, Kidman participated in memorable rivalries with the top names in WCW, including Rey Mysterio, Hulk Hogan and Jeff Jarrett.
When WWE purchased WCW, Kidman was among the first to join WWE and his impact on the cruiserweight division was immediate, as he won the Cruiserweight Championship in July 2001. Overall, Kidman has been a Cruiserweight Champion on several occasions and is always considered a top contender for the title. In addition to his Cruiserweight prowess, Kidman has also excelled in the tag team division on SmackDown!, and had once captured the WWE Tag Team Championship with partner Paul London.
When he accidently injured Chavo Guerrerro with the Shooting Star Press, Billy Kidman was unable to use the move and went as far as walking out on Paul London during a title defense match, causing them to lose the Championship.
Billy Kidman soon began to blame the fans for the accident and later deliberately used the Shooting Star Press to injure Paul London, claiming that it was because of the fans.
For no reason whatsoever, Billy Kidman used the Shooting Star Press on Charlie Haas, and then made as if to use it on Miss Jackie after she was attacked for trying to defend Haas.
Kidman attempted to get on the good side of Chavo when he returned to the WWE, but that didn’t work as Guerrero pummeled him in the corner and tossed him over the top rope with utter disdain.
Billy Kidman would later attempt to use the Shooting Star Press on Chavo again a few weeks later, but missed.
