Problems with Human Evolution?
Not if you understand evolution

some creationist argeuments on the subject examined.

Homo erectus maintains the same appearance over its two million year history using the evolutionary time scale.

This statement implies a third graders level of knowledge about the process of evolution. Evolution does not chug slowly along at a steady pace. On the contrary, evolution happens in sudden spurts, brought on by either natural events of competition. A succesful specie can live a very long time.

3. Modern Homo sapiens, Neanderthal, archaic Homo sapiens and Homo erectus all lived as contemporaries at one time or another. There is no trend for robust forms evolving into more gracfull forms. In the case of Neanderthals and archaic Homo sapiens, the more robust forms are the more recent.

Creationists need to read up on human evolution. Homo Sapiens Neanderthalus lived for a short time (geologicaly speaking) with modern Homo Sapiens (cro-magnon). This is because the human family tree branches out. Not once but several times more then one specie of ancient man lived at the same time, like different species of apes live together today.

4. Homo habilis and Homo erectus are contemporaries; no evolution here.

As I explained above, there is plenty of evolution here.

5. Humans appear in the fossil record as already human. By virtue of being human contemporaries, the Australopithecines are disqualified as human ancestors. 6.

Even if astralopithecines actually did live with modern man (which there absolutly no evidenc efor, and much evidence against), it would not disqualify them as human ancestors. Bats evolved from land rodents, and there are plenty of them around. The same could have happened with the two primate species, but according to all available evidence did not.
