TRIBUTE TO COACH RICH MADERA
In early January 2000, the Downriver running world lost a very dear friend to cancer. Coach Madera was a soft spoken man amongst his peers but around his kids he was filled with great stories and enthusiasm. I dedicate this page as well as my entire life to Coach Madera. I think about all of those individuals that knew and loved Coach and smile because we know what we had when he was near us. It saddens me to think of our future runners who will never have the opportunity to talk track with him. They will meet him however through us because Coach Madera will always be in our hearts. We miss you Coach.
I would like to remind everyone to make sure you tell those you love and respect how much they mean to you. You may never have another chance to do so.
