Aspen Mountain EAST SIDE

Aspen Mountain, east side, from KGWR to the local gas company's transmitter.


Sarting with the furthest back transmitter, it is KGWR Channel 13 with TV service from about a quarter of a million watts (206Kw to be exact ERP)

And the second tower (closest to the screen is KSIT 104.5 FM/KQSW 96.5 FM, both stations put out about 100Kw and have the best coverage area out of all the stations in Sweetwater County.

And now, the aircraft radar station.


This is an FAA Aircraft Radar station that is considered ACTIVE which means it can detect quite a bit of aircraft and even vehicles. What I'm suprised at is the fact that its so easy to access that, well you know what I'm talking about....

Moving west


The farthest left tower hosts Sweetwater County Mutual Aid and 2 Amatuer Radio repeaters. Moving right we find a few local service towers (persumably repeaters.) They may be owned by one of the following companies
Dan Smith Production Equip Co.
Dude's Leon Pumps
FMC Corporation
On-site Heating
Rocky Mountain Oilfield Warehouse
and/or several other possibilities.

The furthest right is used by the Wyoming State Highway Patrol
