Lina just sighed and began to record her thoughts in a journal she'd brought along for just such a reason. Once she was done, she changed and climbed into bed with Gourry, muttering threats under her breath as she did so. She let out a muffled squeak when Gourry's arms wrapped around her. A quick look over her shoulder told her that her companion was still deeply asleep. With a sigh, she rolled over so she was facing him, pillowed her head on his chest and fell asleep.
Tha mazoku general-priest stared down at the sleeping dragon-maiden. He had been surprised when Filia decided to use him as a pillow. Now he was just wondering if she was planning on maiming him with her mace when she woke up in the morning. In the end, he shrugged and fell asleep.
Gourry woke up to find Lina in his arms and his hands where they shouldn't be. 'Lina's gonna kill me,' was his first thought.
"Morning Gourry," Lina purred as she woke up and stretched. "How'd you sleep?"
"I slept just fine," Gourry said nervously, not believing that Lina hadn't killed him yet, because his hands were still where they shouldn't have been.
Lina hid a smile at Gourry's stunned expression. She didn't mind where his hands were placed. In fact, she quite liked them there. Once she'd completed her stretches, she settled back down on Gourry's chest, a smile on her full, pink lips.
Lina's smile made Gourry even more nervous, as did the way her fingers traced idle circles on his chest. "What're you doing Lina?" he asked.
"Relaxing," Lina replied and continued to trace circles on Gourry's chest.
"Why?" Gourry asked. He looked down to meet Lina's wide ruby eyes. He suddenly didn't want to know why.
Lina just gave Gourry an innocent look and continued to run her fingers across his chest.
"We should get up now," Gourry said and removed his hands.
Lina bit her full bottom lip and chewed it nervously. "Gourry, how do I act like we're lovers when we aren't?" she asked, blushing. "I'm a virgin, so I'm not sure what to do."
Gourry had to think real hard to be able to answer that one. "I dunno Lina. I think the only way we would act like lovers was if we both lost our virginity and really became lovers," he replied.
Lina blushed and nodded. "I think you're right," she whispered, blushing brighter. "When? And are you really a virgin?"
"Later and, uh... Yeah, I'm still a virgin. Right now, I want to get cleaned up and bug Xellos," Gourry said and sat up. He slipped out of bed and grabbed a new set of clothing.
Lina remained in the bed, the sheets clutched against her chest, her eyes wide. Her fiery mane cascaded over her shoulders and down her back in tangled splendor.
Gourry strode over to the bed and gave Lina a long, tentative kiss. "Why don't you go back to sleep?" he suggested once the kiss was done.
Lina nodded and settled back against the pillows with a soft sigh. "That's almost better than our first kiss," she told Gourry before she drifted back asleep.
Gourry stared at Lina with shock. Then he grinned. "I thought I was the only one who remembered that kiss," he murmured and bent down to kiss Lina again before he changed. Once he was dressed, hestepped out into the hallway where he met Xellos. "Morning," he said.
"Morning Gourry. Where's Lina?" Xellos asked.
"Still Sleeping. Where's Filia?" Gourry asked.
"Same as Lina. Where are you off to?" Xellos asked as he followed Gourry down the hall.
"I'm going to order breakfast in bed for Lina and myself. We're to have a talk about how we'll act while we're here," Gourry replied and continued down the hall.
"I'll do the same for Filia. We'll also have a talk about our plans for the next two months. Plans that don't involve injuring me," Xellos said as he walked beside Gourry.
"Uh-hu. You touch Lina and you are dead meat," Gourry warned the Mazoku general-priest.
Xellos nodded and gulped. 'Why is everyone threatening me?' he wondered.
Filia got up, slipped on a robe and went to Lina's room. She stared a tthe tiny sorceress for a moment before getting ready to jump on the bed.
"I'll Fireball you if you even think about it," Lina said, opening her ruby eyes to glare at Filia.
Filia backed away nervously. "I only wanted to talk to you," she said hastily.
"About what?" Lina asked, sitting up.
"Did you wake up to find an empty bed this morning?" Filia asked.
"No. I woke up in Gourry's arms. Why?" Lina asked.
"Because I did. Xellos didn't share the bed as far as I know," Filia replied, her tone distressed.
"He did. He probably got up earlier than you did because he was afraid you'd kill him," Lina said.
"How can you be sure?" Filia asked.
"Xel has a major crush on you. He wouldn't pass up the chance to sleep next to you," Lina replied. "Trust me on this one."
Filia nodded uncertainly. "How do you know he has a crush on me?" she asked hesitantly.
"He saved you didn't he? You two are mortal enemies and he could have just let you be crushed, but he didn't. Just like you saved him," Lina said.
"You mean... I really am in love with Xellos! Oh L-sama!" Filia wailed.
"Hush up and go back to your room. I want to sleep again," Lina growled and put her head under a pillow.
Filia left Lina's room and went back to her own. She wrapped herself in Xellos' cloak and fell asleep, a soft smile on her lips.
