When I was a kid, I remember watching the Easter special "Here Comes Peter Cottontail".
The program used animated characters in the tradition of "Rudolph" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town".
The Easter Bunny is the hero of the film.
The villain in the film is an evil bunny named Irontail.
Vincent Price did the voice for old Irontail.
Irontail hated children because once upon a time a little boy ran over his tail with a tricycle.
He had to replace his fluffy bunny tail with an iron one.
As the years went by, I forgot about this character until I was reading about the Easter special.
I remembered old Irontail and right on the spot knew that I had to portray this character as a rival for the Easter Bunny.
I put on dark gray makeup and wore a black coat with a shirt, vest, and tie. I used my Easter Bunny ears but covered them with black poster board.
I was visiting a site on the internet to try to find pictures of this character, and one particular site referred to Irontail as "Hitler Bunny".
I used "The Bunny Song" from Veggie Tales for my Easter video for 2002. Irontail is seated at a table and begins to sing about how he loves chocolate bunnies.
He sings that he doesn't want health food and that tofu is for sissies, but bunnies are cool!
Alex got a little toy baby chick for Easter 2002. In the video, Irontail stuffs the chick in his mouth and rubs his tummy.
In another scene, he comes marching down the hall.
The film ends with Irontail singing "I gave everything I had for the bunny".
This was my only portrayal of Irontail.
