a puzzle piece was missing
but i had searched the entire house
it seemed to just have vanished
and the picture was not complete
because of one single hole
i knew the picture on the piece was just a
little red heart
but where it went,
i had no clue.
i saw it a few years ago
in the glimmer in your eyes
but that was before we bought the puzzle
and back then it didnt matter....
the little heart was missing
in this big world somewhere
but little did i know
it was stored right in here <3
i looked deep within my heart
to find a love for you, you see,
and that is where i found the piece
all those years~ caught in my stupidity
little words of hate made it buried deep within
the scars on you were ugly though i never knew
and for that im truly sorry
i never thought that you had feelings
for that i shed a tear
i really am crying now as many times before
i have shed so many tears for you
thank God youll never know
But finally, this little puzzle piece was found amidst 300 others
it was a light
from one single answered prayer
yes, i knew you loved me
but it was buried deep within
i just needed a reminder
and that was true and real
i prayed and i yearned for us to be closer
but i distanced you on my own while afraid of more pain
then one day
you were sad
and i heard that you shed a tear
i knew that you had feelings
just way down deep inside
i suppose you didnt know how to show them....
on that day, two prayers were answered
that day papa was healed for all eternity
(dear God i pray hes in heaven)
and that night you told me something
i thought id never again hear
after telling you so many times before of how i hated you
and how you would never understand
you told me this one night
it really was so pure and genuine...
if you would have stayed a second more you would have seen the tear fall
you told me that you loved me
and then you kissed me on the head
and then i found the missing piece
the little red heart had come out pounding
for when your back was turned
a tear, it fell from me
so much joy welled up within
because things were going right
i didnt know quite what to do
so i took the puzzle piece and shoved it in its place
it was where it should have been before
right in its special place
i took a step back to see the completed masterpiece
i finally realized what the puzzle said...
the little piece was bigger than i had thought before
because it took up so much space
even in the very center
but i guess thats where a heart belongs
i recited the line that the puzzle said...
it wasnt all that long...
the last piece, the heart, had made it complete
it just simply said
