A GIFT IN THE SKY
As a child I
dreamed
Beneath a canvas of
sky
Creating masterpieces
Framing
each with infinite care
Hanging them
bright and high
Before sending them
on their way
To another child
dreaming, somewhere.
MOONLIGHT
Ecstatic moonlight
scatters...and breaks, through the
leaves
outside my window.
Like dream filters they dilute
sparing me from lunacy.
SPRING
Another false spring
maple buds litter the ground,
lying here and there
amidst last night's fresh snowfall.
Mother Nature's playing games.
A STELLAR PERFORMANCE
When I look into the night sky
the stars compete for my
attention...
outshone by streetlights
in shades of white or amber.
Incandescent imitations...
one for each star it seems
or is it one less star
for each new pretender?
EARTHLIGHTS
I wonder...
if I lived on the Moon
would I stand like this
and count Earthlights?
