Eating healthy is probably the best thing you can do to make your period as painless as possible. start cutting things that make pain worse a few days before you start bleeding. I am serious, most women I know with serious PMS have diets high in sugar and caffeine and I personally see a big difference before my period when I am eating unhealthy.
.avoid red meat, wine (and alcohol in general), caffeine, sugar, cigarettes, processed foods and diary.
.eat food rich in potassium, calcium and iron. try eating lots of spinach, kale, avocado, banana and complex carbohydrates like quinoa and brown rice.
.to avoid fatigue during or after your period eat often, sleep well, stretch and drink juices with lots of vitamin c, like orange or blueberry.
.hot bathes, hot and cold presses or anything else like that. for whole body relief try a hot bath with lemon, lavender or ginger in it. use electric heating pads, microwavable hot presses or ice on your abdominal area, for 15 mins, you can switch hot and cold every 10 mins also.
.herbs can help! in teas, tinctures, pills, essential oils (especially hot oils) and foods. here’s a quick list: evening primrose, raspberry leaf, ginger (especially for nausea), valerian, motherwort, lavender (especially for headaches or migraines), turmeric, black cohosh, cinnamon and dandelion (find it fresh with the other greens in a grocery store, or pick it from your yard, MAKE SURE TO WASH IT WELL).
