Our (Elsa and I) Egyptian vacation was one of best and most enjoyable vacations that we ever took. As soon as we landed in Cairo we felt the excitement that a very old civilisation can convey to the modern explorers. We were so aroused by the thought of exploring Cairo that we forwent our rest after the long flight and went exploring the city. I will not advise any one to do so. The day after we were so tired that we practically had to rest all day.
After a day of rest we felt very relaxed and ready for our exploration of the sphinx and pyramids.
It doesn't matter how many times one sees them on television or at the cinema. The site is awesome, it is unbelievable what those people did without machinery or for that matter without steel tools. It has to be seen to be appreciated.
We walked all the way in what is considered (but not probable) to be one of the tombs chambers. Let me tell you it was no picnic. The tunnel has hardly any room to pass and is so deep in the bally of the pyramid that the air is hardly breathable and there is a very foul smell. I'm telling you that one feels good once outside.
Before we left for our exploratory cruise on the Nile we visited as much of Cairo as it was possible. We also spent many ours in the Cairo's, Egyptian Museum.
