Britney Spears to Shake Her Moneymaker in More Movies

Former Mouseketeer Britney Spears signed with International Creative Management for movie representation on Monday, sparking rumblings that the pop star will be turning more of her attention towards feature films.

According to Variety, the singer has formed a production company and is in final negotiations with screenwriter James V. Hart ("Contact") to write a feature film project for her to star in. No details of the project have been disclosed.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old Spears already has the teen road drama "Crossroads" in the can, awaiting a Feb. 15 release. The picture was financed by Spears' record company, Jive Records.

Spears will also make a cameo as herself in "Goldmember," the next installment of the "Austin Powers" franchise.

Also, Miramax topper Harvey Weinstein has been sniffing around, hoping to lure the curvy Spears for a small but memorable part in "Chicago," the highly anticipated movie version of Bob Fosse's musical.

Spears' bid to bust onto the big screen may be spurned on by sagging album sales. Her latest release "Britney" is lagging behind her last album "Oops! I Did It Again" by more than 50 percent.
