Christina Aguilera says she wants to be friends with Britney Spears again.

She's sent a "deeply Personal" letter to Spears in a bid to end a bitter and long-standing feud.

In the letter, sent to Spears' Louisiana home, Christina says: "Let's be friends again. We're both deep in this music business, which can get nasty. People take things we say out of context. But we're more similar than we are different - with the same worries and concerns."

Aguilera says she'd like to meet with Spears and "talk things through."

The pair were childhood friends when they starred on US TV show the Mickey Mouse Club. But they have since fallen out, and the bad blood boiled over last year when they declared their mutual hate, says The Sun.

Aguilera said of Spears: "I think she's a great girl. I do. She's a sweet girl. But this business can make anybody get caught in a whirlwind and caught up in the wrong things. Get back to basics, Britney."

She said she has yet to get a response from Spears.

Christina prefers girls and wanted to kiss Britney
Thursday 22nd January 2004

Christina Aguilera says she gets turned on by girls more than boys and wanted to kiss Britney Spears.

But she says Britney turned her down at the MTV Awards so they both kissed Madonna instead.

In an interview in Zoo magazine, she also talked about her intimate body piercing and says she loves casual sex.

She said: "I find it hornier looking at women then men. Sorry, I love experimenting with my sexuality. If that means girls then so be it.

"I'd kiss a girl again. The Madonna thing was a one-off but girls are nice to kiss - nice and soft. I was up for kissing Britney but Britney wasn't."

Christina also admitted: " I have casual sex, I love casual sex. But that doesn't mean I'm incapable of keeping my legs together."

And, of her piercings, she added: "It just seemed erotic to have one done in a place that most people wouldn't have the guts to do it.

"You hear things like: "Oh, it will help you reach new sexual heights." Whatever, I just think it's pretty. Actually, I've had plenty of nice compliments about it."

Cowell says Britney needs to tone up
May 24, 2004

Simon Cowell has launched yet another attack on Britney Spears - insisting she needed to tone herself up before dancing around in lingerie on her current tour.

The 22-year-old Toxic singer is currently on the European leg of her Onyx Hotel tour, which has been plagued with negative feedback from a wide range of critics.

According to Teenhollywood Cowell admits he was far from impressed with Spears's body when he saw the part of her show where she cavorts around in underwear.

He says, "I kind of like this about Britney - when she makes great pop records like Baby One More Time and Toxic, they're great pop records.

"I shouldn't say what I'm about to say...but the shot of her in her underwear onstage, I would've gone to the gym a bit more before I did that. Sorry, but true."

Cowell gives the star's chart rival Christina Aguilera a far more glowing review.

He adds, "Great voice, great attitude. I just think this girl is a star. I really like her.

"Where (Britney's) different from Christina is that she is someone who's so reliant on great pop records produced and written for her, whereas Christina is a bit more kind of old school - just an unbelievable singer."
