Having been given strong roots to grow from in a small New Jersey town, Kathy Derry has proven to be a fiercely persistent go-getter with an insatiable appetite for personal transformation, travel, and the ability to enjoy every moment life has to offer, and that she does. Her early days as a competitive cheerleader and gymnast led to modeling in New York City, being seen on the pages and covers of numerous fashion and fitness magazines and catalogs, and a five-year contract appearing on more than 100 episodes of programming on ESPN2. Kathy hosted three shows for the network, being dubbed as one of the "Deuces Fitness Angels". She was simultaneously studying and pursuing her theatrical acting career, appearing in productions in the off-Broadway Ohio Theater as well as on television in Fox's NY Undercover and in the feature film West New York.
Aside from ESPN fitness Kathy has been a spokes model and host for Guthy-Renker, Impax, and the Q2 network, as well as being featured on shows such as American Journal and Extra.
As a bird takes flight in the changing of seasons, so too did Kathy, traveling from the East Coast to the West Coast to co-star in the action adventure film Warpath and to partner with director Alex Lief to launch Alley-Kat Productions. The have since written, produced, and Kathy has acted in a couple of shorts for Microsoft featuring the Ultimate TV box. If you think you have seen Kathy donning various wigs in a couple of dot-com commercials and currently in a Kawasaki ad, you would be right. She has also made her mark in Las Vegas by modeling for Luxor Spa advertisements, and she has played the bride in print campaigns for bridal gowns.
Pursuing acting has been a challenge worth taking for Kathy. She co-starred in the award-winning film Closing The Deal starring Ray Weiss and James Wilder, and she starred as American vixen Blaine Price in the feature film Gingers Rise. However, a love of health, fitness, and the well being of others is never far from mind and heart for Kathy. She recently became a spokes model for a United Fitness product that is taking the airwaves by storm. Kathy has fulfilled a longtime desire to partner with longtime friends and co-hosts Deprise Brechia and Jennifer Dempster-Fowler to write and pitch to networks a sitcom pilot based on their comedic experiences in the fitness industry.
While Kathy enjoys modeling, acting, hosting, writing, and producing, her true love is finding time to be with family, friends, and four-legged creatures such as her cats Mugsy and Roach. Her true passion is having people feel better about themselves and life through her work, and that is something she is committed to continue doing.
