IJLW Brazil 8

(Harrison (5), G. Clark, Belcher, Toms)

Slavia Plaque 0

Team: Andrews, Toms, Fox, Churchley, Lambert, G. Clark (C), P. Clark, Smith, Belcher, Harrison, Fenwick.

Subs: Kennedy, Davison, Andy.

After last week Brazil knew that they were more than capable of beating Slavia Plaque, and even with what appeared to be several new faces from the team we trounced last week, Brazil were no match for them. Brazil started off sluggishly, the ultra long grass not helping our usual passing game and it took 10 mins before Brazil really threatened. A ball into the channel down the left from Fenwick released Belcher who cut inside beating 2 men before seeing his shot canon back off the post. Moment’s later Harrison chancing a lost cause slid in on their keeper and forced the ball over the line 1-0. Brazil sensing that Plaques defence were hesitant, played simple balls over the top for Harrison to run onto resulting in several more simple goals, as Brazil found themselves 3-0 up. Slavia Plaque changed tactics at this point and decided to try and cheat there way back into the game but elbowing and throwing punches as the ref lost control, with their number 11 who we will call talentless Irish Bloke their worst offender with whinging no. 5 not far behind. Brazil laided siege to their goal with Smith trying his luck from 25 yds on several occasions. A half cleared attempted was fed back to Harrison on the edge of the area who turned and curled in a shot into the top right hand corner 4-0. Another quick goal from Harrison for his fifth saw Brazil go in at half time 5-0 up.

Half time saw one change as Kennedy came on for Fox as Brazil sought to combat the Wimbledon style of Plaque whose half time talk must of consisted of try and feign injury and get their players sent off, although P. Clark did try and make sure that one would be definitely injured with a awful 2 footed challenge with went unpunished by the ref. Davison was brought on for Harrison, as Toms came up to hold in midfield. This paid off immediately as G. Clark was sent scampering through the middle to score his third goal in 3 games. Obstruction in the box by Plaque, who by this stage had forgotten what the ball looked like, such was our possession, led to a well-worked free kick to Fenwick whose shot was well saved. Smith released Belcher, who probably playing his worst game for Brazil, redeemed himself by cheekily lobbing the keeper from 20 yds, the goal was even more satisfying for him as talentless Irish bloke was marking him- well supposed to be. A quickly taken free kick from a back pass saw P. Clark face an open goal and promptly put it wide from 6 yds. Belcher was replaced with Andy on 80 minutes as Brazil continued to push forward. A half-cleared corner fell to Toms who riffled the Ball into the bottom corner for his first goal, and see Brazil comfortable through to the next round of the cup.

Final Score 8-0

Ref- 3/10.
