In an ever increasing attempt to make the oceans around Cobra Island more secure, Cobra Commander commissioned new water craft and submersibles be made. One of the new designs that won out above all the others was the Tiger Shark. With design schemes stolen from the Joes and using hand-me-down engines from the Firebat jet fighters, the Tiger Shark is the fastest thing under the water.

Due to constraints in construction and cost prohibitive materials, few Tiger Sharks are still in existence. The Tiger Shark, unlike the Joe Shark it was based upon, cannot fly even for short distances, but under the waves it's a force to be reckoned with.
