The Hounds-Bluddhound Elite Troopers
These are the dreaded Hounds! The Bluddhounds' deal with Cobra extends far beyond mere dollars for dirty deeds. Sebastian Bludd also has access to Cobra's rosters, and Cobra Commander allows him full disclosure on troops that he wants on his team. That's where The Hounds come in. The Hounds are specialized Cobra troops, most of them Night Vipers and even some of them entering the Crimson Guard Corps. Bludd uses them in a variety of ways, either as mere troopers for some of his bigger jobs, gunmen for jobs not important enough for the regular Bluddhounds, or as simple bodyguards and special forces troopers as the mission dictates. When they aren't on a mission with the Bluddhounds, The Hound troopers stick with Cobra and aid them in their endeavours.
Six months before the Hounds made their debut, a top secret research facility was raided. There were no survivors. Missing were plans for Project: Second Skin, a high-tech armored faceplate, which clung to the flesh like cloth but served as a gas mask, infrared goggles and a very detailed tracking system, used to register heat emissions, the faintest noises, and even odors of the enemies. As soon as The Hounds showed up, it became obvious who had participated in the raid. Now using this equipment, these Elite Troopers really live up to their namesakes, able to hunt down even the most elusive prey for what is to be a very painful punishment.
Construction Notes: Well, a lot of people have been wondering what the heck they were going to do with all the extra Major Bludds from the Major Bludd/Rock Viper 2 packs. This is my solution. I just used some 320 grit sandpaper to file down the Major's head(s), added some silver paint, a thin black wash, and gave them some highlights for the eyes. The body I left unchanged, so they could blend in better with the good Major. A pretty easy, and I think a pretty cool, solution.
