TRIVIA 2

Did you Know....?

Santa Barbara was the most popular show in Russia. It was brodcast three times a week at 10.00 a.m. and at 20.00 p.m. Millions of russians enjoyed the wonderful and great storylines of the Capwells and Lockridges. And when the channel had to cancel it due to their economy, thousands of Russians made protests at the streets...

A Martinez's first words on L.A.LAW were as follows:

Stuart ( to the firm's new lawyer Daniel, played by A Martinez): "So, where are you from?"

Daniel: " Up North"

Stuart: " Up North where?"

Daniel: " Santa Barbara."

The Andrades were originally 6 people: Rosa Andrade ( Margarita Cordova), Ruben Andrade ( Ismael East Carlo), Danny Andrade ( Rupert Ravens), Santana Andrade (Ava Lazar, Margaret Michaels, Gina Gallego and Wanda DeJesus)and her never seen but heard sisters Olivia and Gabrielle...

When Mason was in Heaven with God, when Ric Castillo was watching TV at home and when Cruz was visiting Eden in Paris, do you remember which soap opera they were watching...? It was... Santa Barbara!!!!!!

Although Eden and Cruz turned out to be the show's signature couple, the writers had not intended to pair the two together!

The producers had planned to change the tune and the opening of Santa Barbara, but the sad cancellation came first and they didn't do it. If Santa Barbara hadn't been cancelled in 1993, we would have been able to see a new opening a tune. What a pity!!!!

During a 1988 storyline in which Eden was attacked by a serial rapist, the show took full aim at General Hospital's popular rape-triggered romance between Luke and Laura. On a talk show to discuss rape, Eden met two soap actors from a soap opera titled 'General Clinic', where they played a rapist and a victim who fell in love.

In a series of promo spots during the late '80s, several of the Santa Barbara's actors poked fun at the previous soap roles. SB tended to recruit experienced soap veterans rather than unknowns.. The soap had hired so many veterans that insiders started joking: " Soap actors never die, they just wind up on Santa Barbara"
