Another case was over, and another day was done. Mickey and Ginger had silently kept watch as McCall rolled up the case and then they had quickly left, and met up with Jimmy and Sterno outside. They'd started walking and talking, after Mickey and Ginger had stashed their guns in their cars, respectively, feeling more relaxed now that the case was done, and eventually found themselves in front of a diner. Mickey raised his eyebrow slightly at the coincidence of it being the same one in which he and Ginger had found themselves in earlier that day.

"Wanna have dinner?" he asked the group.

Sterno nodded his consent; his mouth already stuffed from a pastry he'd picked up along the way.

"Sure," Jimmy said, "I don't have a wife to go home to anymore."

Mickey quickly jumped in, "On the condition that you *don't* keep talking about her, agreed?" and Jimmy nodded.

Ginger looked at them all and then shrugged. "Why not?" Mickey opened the door and they all piled in, claiming the first empty booth they saw. Mickey grabbed a window seat, and was surprised when Ginger snagged the seat next to him. They looked at their menus, and ordered sandwiches and coffee.

"Where did McCall go, after?" Jimmy asked.

"Oh, I think he had a little business he wanted to take of," Mickey replied, around a mouthful of his club sandwich. Mickey suspected he went to have a little "talk" with Jason, but hadn't asked.

They relaxed over coffee (Sterno had ordered a slice of the chocolate cake, too) afterwards, and talked about old friends and missions. Ginger briefly excused herself and when she returned, she found that Mickey had left. The bills had been delivered and she started rummaging in her purse for her wallet when Jimmy stopped her.

"I don't think you'll need to do that," he said solemnly, as he put on his jacket. Ginger looked, and saw that the money for her meal was already under her bill. She looked through the window, and saw Mickey standing, waiting for her to notice him. She saw a crooked smile appear, and he saluted her. She smiled back, finally at peace with the past.
