Wow, it has been over a year since the sit was last touched, and a year and a half since anythin big has changed on it. Here is the the latest from your new webpoke: We have welcomed a new and impressive member to the Flahertys, say hi Carl. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Carl Perkins. Carl has never played on stage before, but we are excited to unleash him upon the masses. The Flahertys have started College at the University of Minnesota TC, where they joined with Carl. In a last-minute-decision, Sean decided to sign us up for the Spring Jam band competition, and it paid off. We took the first place trophy, beating out 16 other bands, including Puppykicker and some other dudes. There was sleet, rain, wind, and a good number of drunkards for an alchol-free event. One by-stander was quoted exclaiming,"Finally there's some real Irish rock out there." It brings a tear to my eye to know that the fans really appreciate us. Anyways, Carl passed the preliminary band try-out, which consists of seeing how hard a new band member can kick ass and gelp score a righteous trophy. I hope to start playing some shows at the Red Sea or the Dinkytowner or some place like that; I just need to drop my name a those places. Any new shows will be updated immediately as they are scheduled. Fans, keep rockin' your plaid skirts at all the upcoming shows to keep the spirit of the Flahertys alive. - 4-16-01
I am very pleased with the response to the word up in here that there is a CD. We'll make plenty of copies for everyone, and if you're lucky you may be able to get your grubby little hands on a free full-length CD (The entire master recording with some bonus songs that are not on the regular EP. Chode. - 4-3-01
As you can see, I'm giving the page a new look. As soon as that's finished, you'll see some new pictures from our more recent shows. Have you seen the new music page yet? It's still under construction, but you'll soon be able to hear, if not download, some of the songs off the new demo. Reserve your copy of the new demo today for only $5 online! Just email Brooks with the word "Flahertys CD" in the subject heading...Later. - 4-1-01
To all of you who were able to see our show on Saturday night, thank you very much. You were witness to one spectacular show! Our old bass player, Paul LeTourneau, came out to see us and helped revive our old cover of "Around the World" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Thanks to Dustin, the sound man, we were able to record the whole show AND THE TAPE SOUNDS GREAT!!! For a copy just email Brooks or the Flaherty brothers. We have another show scheduled on Friday, April 6th at the Garage with Mervision and other bands. Keep an eye out for more upcoming shows and Associated Mess which is the best band around here...like Manic Euphoria. Later... - 3-30-01

So yeyeah...there's a show with MYTH and Epik "they sound like Papa Roach" this Saturday, January 6th, 2001 at the Garage. It will begin around 7:30-8:00, and admission is probably $3 at the doors. We wrote a new song, "The Curse of the Irish," and will be playing it there...so...something new for a change! I've updated the Pics from prev. shows page, the Band bios page, and the Links page. - 12-22-00

Well, the show on the 23rd of September sucketh greatly. That's all. I've posted the pictures on our pictures page. Falling Down is playing a show at the Prior Lake bonfire on Wednesday night (the 4th) with SxOxLx. Fun stuff. They're also playing at the Quest on Saturday the 7th between 12:55pm and 2:15pm!!! Tickets are $12 in advance. Call Brooks if interested. That's all for now. No shows for the Flahertys have been scheduled at this time. Check back later. "A hearty hand-shake" to Sean and Ian Hill and everyone that came to our worst show ever. Next time whether we're on or not, we'll sound better no matter what. ::::"See ya in the pit."::::...sarcasm intended. - 9-21-00

School starts tomorrow. And Bill Mohr is a splendid individual. Check out his-... no...check out the band-in-which-he-is-a-bass-player, called Onward To Mayhem (it's actually Daego's band) we played with them a few months ago at the Savage American Legion. Also check out Falling Down, a new band from Prior Lake in which Brooks enjoys playing the 2nd guitar. I'll post both URL's as soon as I feel like typing extra. School starts tomorrow. Tonight is a school night, so I have to go to bed early. Psyche! - 8-31-00
Well, I actually have been updating the site all along, but just didn't feel like doing this part. We are indeed recording a tape. We may like some help. Uh, let's see, I've updated the Shows page and the Picture of the Month page. Check out the Failure (Brooks' new band's) web page...it has been updated. That's about it for now. Se you on the 23rd of September at the Garage...yes, another show. This one'll be 'uge! We should have tapes/CD's and some other merch by then, we'll play with Falcor and some other all-pro band. - 7-4-2000
I have uploaded a myriad of photos from the Party on the Parkway show. Oh, and Happy Independence Day, my fellow non-foreign, American citizens. 'Twas on this day one year ago that we celebrated last year's Independence Day with fireworks, which were invented by the Zhou Dynasty of China around 100 B.C. Okay, so I don't know my Chinese history very well. Nevermind. - 6-30-00
Well, I'm spent. It's 12:26am, and I've finished the tables and whatnots. This site needed a makeover, and it got one all freaking day today. Happy Birthday, Kirsten! - 6-28-00
I've added these radical buttons to each page. You don't believe me? Well, au contraire, mon ami, just scroll down to the bottom of this page, and scope out those gnarly fattie-boom-battie snootchie-bootchies, my man. Righteous, indeed, bro. Check it: we've scored a bodacious show on the 14th of July with N.A.R. that we'll see you at, okay, bud? - 6-24-00
Well, the show in BV was okay this morning. Pictures will be up soon. We've got another show coming up at the Garage on the 14th of July with No Apparent Reason. - 6-21-00
- 6-19-00
Hey, everyone. Some unfortunate news...Paul has moved on to "bigger" and "better" things. So The Flahertys are now in desperate need of an accomplished bass player. When I say 'accomplished' I mean someone who already plays the bass. You must also be willing to wear a kilt. No questions asked, pal. Please e-mail Brooks or The Flahertys if interested. - 6-16-00
I've added a load of pictures to the site. I also changed the ones on the "Somewhat Embarrassing Pictures of the Month Page." And such. Oh, I always forget this one: Paul has graduated high scholl and is moving on into college this summer and stuff. This now means that we're searching for a new bass player! It sucks. But if anyone is interested and has their very own bass guitar and amplifier, please, please, please, and such email one of the band members immediately! Thank you. - 6-13-00
School's out! And the Flahertys have a show coming up on June 24th at "Party on the Parkway" in the Benchwarmer Bob's parking lot. The Party goes from 10:00am to about 6:00pm. So come and check us out. I've added a few more pictures to the site. OH! We have another show at the Garage on Friday, July 14th with a soon-to-be-announced band. Possibly Failure? Anyways, keep your eyes peeled to the page for more details... - 6-5-00
Well, well, well...um, the punk show was a hit...with us anyway. And Brooks performed with Steve and that Plotzman boy with a cover of Extreme's big 80s hit "More Than Words". Fun times. There will be another show on June 24th in the parking lot of Benchwarmer Bob's for the Party on the Parkway. That's all, gotta go. - 5-14-00
Oh, dear...there is just too much going on on the green earth of the Flahertys. More pictures have been added. On Friday, May 5th, we played at a Battle of the Bands at Grace Church in Edina, MN. We will never do that again. Bad experience. Mediocre show. We lost. Look for upcoming shows with the Drake Physics Project from Chaska, MN, and 2nd-place-$200-winning The Wall Streets. Also, we may play a huge show on May 27th at the Savage VFW along with Failure, Onward Towards Mayhem, BFS, and 5 more bands. THE BURNSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL BAND POPS CONCERT IS THIS WEEK!!! ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, MAY 18TH-19TH, THE FLAHERTYS WILL BE PERFORMING THE EAGLES' CLASSIC "HOTEL CALIFORNIA". Also, please check us out on the Garage's website, we have a "pleasant" review, and a couple pictures. - 4-23-00
I deleted that "thank you" crap. That show we played on the 14th was a success. A band named "Kingsferd" warmed up the crowd with a few Incubus covers and some originals of their own. Then Paul and Ryan with "just some dudes" played a few Blink 182 songs. That was nice. But then we took the stages and rocked the house, yeyeah! Our set included two more songs, "Around the World" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers (A shirtless Sean almost passed out singing), and "For Whom the Bell Tolls" by who else, but Metallica. Our set was cut short when Mindless Conception took the stage and enlightened the crowd. All in all, it was a pretty good show, even though we were minus one lead singer (Erica) due to illness. On Tuesday, April 18th we auditioned for the BHS Band Pops Concert with "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster cult. B-O-C! B-O-C! But it has been requested by the band teachers that we play the Eagles' classic "Hotel Califoria". That song sucks. A lot. But on Wednesday the 19th, Brooks auditioned with friends Dan Plotzman and Steve Anderson for the BHS Choir Pops Concert with an excellent cover of Extreme's "More Than Words". That went really well. And finally on Thursday the 20th of April, we were scheduled to play at "Zachstock" in Eagan at the Trapp Farm Park with four other bands including: Sudden Release, Toy, Smokey Joe, and Kingsferd. But that show was cancelled due to poor weather. Watch for an update on the rescheduling for that show!!! - 4-12-00
I've added a few more pictures, and a "THANK YOU, MOM!" which she thought was necessary. - 4-11-00
I've added a lot of pictures from previous shows to the "Pictures From Previous Shows" page. They're good. There are many yet to come such as pictures from our Halloween show that need to be scanned and pictures from the birthday party that we need to find. I'm looking forward to seeing the Smashing Pumpkins in concert tomorrow night...and our show is in two more days! - 4-9-00
I saw Mindless Conception last night after they played a birthday party. They are pretty good. Watch out for the BHS Pops Concerts later this year, you won't believe your eyezzz. I also added some more never-before-seen photos to the web page. Oh, and the Flahertys themselves now have internet access. Score! - 4-7-00
We have another show at the Garage in Burnsville, MN on Friday, April 14th. We will be opening for Mindless Conception, a band featuring Ben Benefield and Todd Slepicka. It's Todd's birthday, so hit him. All donors to the Burnsville High School Blood Drive will receive a voucher to attend the show free of charge. The Flahertys will take over the stage around 9:00 pm following bassist Paul's little punk band, featuring Ryan on drums. Hope you can attend! Call Eric Billiet at the Garage for more info. and directions. (612) 895-4664 he's super!
