Nicholas Psaltis
LONGMEADOW - Nicholas (Nick) Psaltis, 44, of Longmeadow, passed away on Thursday, August 11, after a brave battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Audrey Grant Psaltis; devoted father of Lucy (12) and Sophie (8); and brother of Ellen Psaltis Pultro and her husband Joe, of Linthicum, MD, and George Psaltis, of New York City. Nick also leaves his loving mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lois and Harvey Grant, of East Longmeadow, loving sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marji Grant Ross and Mac Ross, of McLean, VA; loving nieces, Joanna Pultro, Sarah Ross, Trina Ross, and Becky Ross; and nephew, Frank Pultro; and devoted pets, Olive, Zipper and George. Nick was born April 1, 1961 in Springfield, a son of Fotis and Loula Psaltis. Nick graduated from Longmeadow High School in 1980. He went on to graduate from the University of Maryland in 1985 with a Bachelors degree in Architecture, and he earned his Masters of Architecture from the University of Houston in 1987. Nick was a senior architect at The Dennis Group, in Springfield, where he had worked since 1999. Nick enjoyed coaching his daughters' soccer teams, playing golf, photography, and spending time with his family and friends. Services will be held at Forastiere-Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow, on Monday, August 15. Friends may come to Forastiere-Smith Funeral Home to pay respects to the family from 5-6 p.m. The memorial service begins at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nick's memory to his children, c/o the Psaltis Scholarship Fund, P.O. ALLENWOOD, NJ - Graham W. Frost, 41, of Allenwood, New Jersey, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at the Medical Center of Ocean County, Brick, New Jersey. Born in Buffalo, New York, Mr. Frost was raised in Longmeadow, MA. He lived in Howell, NJ, before moving to Allenwood two years ago. He graduated from Longmeadow High School and Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois, Class of 1984. He was the owner of Champion Turf, Howell, which he founded 6 years ago. He is survived by his wife, Valerie Feinstein Frost. Also, 2 sons, Maxwell & Zachary Frost at home; his father and stepmother, Thomas & Isabelle Frost, of St. Augustine, FL; his mother, Joan Welt Tettlebach of East Harwich, MA; 2 brothers, Haydn Frost, of Apex, NC, & Alexander Frost of South Kingston, RI. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan, New Jersey. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Frost's memory to the Public Health Research Institute, 225 Warren Street, Newark, New Jersey 07103. Contribution envelopes are available through the funeral home.

L. J. Higginbotham II
LONGMEADOW - Lee J. Higginbotham II, 38, of this town, was fatally injured Saturday in a Suffield, Conn., automobile accident. Police said the car he was traveling struck a tree on Thrall Avenue on Saturday evening. Robert B. Kennedy, also of Longmeadow, was also killed in accident, police said. Born in Springfield, he lived in Longmeadow for most of his life and was a 1980 graduate of Longmeadow High School. He also attended Springfield Community Technical College. He leaves his mother, Alynda (Morton) Cowles of Longmeadow; his father and stepmother, Lee and Hilda Higginbotham of Stafford, Conn.; a brother, Victor, and sister, Kimberly Cool, both of Longmeadow; and his grandparents, Frances Morton of Longmeadow, Ruth Messer of Enfield, Conn., and Frank Higginbotham of Branchville, N.J. A memorial service will be held Saturday morning at St. David's Episcopal Church in the Feeding Hills section of Agawam. There are no calling hours. Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home of Suffield is in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 204 Highland Ave., P.O. Box 4506, Salem, MA 01970.

Richard H. Petlock
LONGMEADOW - Richard H. Petlock, 38, of this town, died Wednesday at home. An accountant, he had worked at Petlock & Judelson in West Springfield, Greenberg Rosenblatt Kull & Vitsoli in Springfield and Sigal & Co. in West Hartford, Conn., as well as operating his own accounting and bookkeeping services. Born in Springfield, he was a graduate of Longmeadow High School and Western New England College. He was a Grateful Dead Historian and contributed to numerous publications. He leaves his father, Arthur Petlock of Longmeadow; his mother Simma (Katz) Petlock of Agawam; a brother, Steven of Northborough; his grandmother Edith Katz of Longmeadow; and his fiancee, Tina Varner of East Longmeadow. The funeral will be Friday at noon at Sinai Temple, with burial in Sinai Memorial Park. Harold R. Ascher & Son Memorial Chapel is in charge. Memorial observance will be at the home of Zane and Miriam Katz, 281 Captain Road, Longmeadow, with evening services Saturday and Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02215; or the American Lung Association, 393 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01105; or to the Richard H. Collette M. Irwin
CHICOPEE - Collette M. (Maclure) Irwin, 37, of 417 Springfield St., died Monday in North Attleboro. She was a six-year licensed physician's assistant for the Visiting Nurse Association of Holyoke. After receiving a tractor-trailer license from the United Tractor Trailer School in Chicopee in January, was a truck driver for Maines Paper & Food Services of Chicopee. She was born in Springfield and schooled in Longmeadow. She leaves her parents, Ronald Maclure of Cranston, R.I., and Dr. Jeanne (Mozeleski) Maclure of Chicopee; a son, Nicholas O. Irwin of Chicopee; a daughter, Danielle J. Irwin of Chicopee; two brothers, Keith A. Maclure of Chicopee and Michael D. Maclure of East Longmeadow; and three sisters, Marion Dollar of Woodstock, Ga., Rhonda Lacasse of Chicopee and Michelle Ligus of West Springfield. The funeral will be Saturday morning at Grisé Funeral Home and Assumption Church, with burial at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours are Friday evening.

Clearwater, Florida - Scott Carlson, 35, of Clearwater died June 16 at Morton Plant Hospital. He was an Explorer. Born in Springfield Mass. He attended Longmeadow Schools and The College of the Redwoods in California. He leaves his mother, Paula Hastings of Portsmouth, NH; his father Robert P. Carlson of Leominster MA: his stepfather, James J. Holsing of Longmeadow MA; two brothers, Tim Hastings of Portsmouth, and Jay Holsing of Springfield; Stacy Rockwell of Wilbraham, MA and a niece. The funeral is private, and Abbey Parklawn Funeral Home of Palm Harbor is in charge.
