Welcome to my page, dedicated to all the other bands of the 80s that are cool. Bands like Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Slaughter, Skid Row, Winger, Firehouse, and so on. On this page, you'll see some of my other favorite bands, and some basic info on them.
LA GUNS
LA Guns was a band formed in the late 80s. Old line up was: Kelly Nickels, Mick Cripps, Tracii Guns, Phil Lewis, and Steve Riley. Kelly has since left the band, and Mick doesn't tour with them. Phil left the band in 92, but has currently rejoined the band and they have a brand new CD out called "Man In The Moon". Their biggest hit was "Ballad of Jayne" and that was their only single to make the top 40. LA Guns was one of the only bands of the 80s who didn't go for all the glitz and glamour like other 80s bands did..and as Tracii says "Even tho those bands were really famous, they were goofy looking man, we were just happy being ourselves"
WARRANT
Warrant started out in the late 80s with lots of success...including 2 double platinum albums. Warrant's had many line up changes...Original members: Jani, Jerry, Joey, Steven, Erik. Current members: Jani, Erik, Jerry, Mike, Billy. Jani left the band for a brief time in the 90s, but has currently rejoined the group. Hits including: Cherry Pie, I Saw Red, Heaven, Uncle Tom's Cabin, 32 Pennies, AYM, and Downboys. Warrant is currently touring with Firehouse, Ratt, and LA Guns of 2002. The band is still as lively as they were in the 80s and early 90s, and is still, if not better than they were then.
FIREHOUSE
Firehouse is another band, that I just love! Members are: C.J. Snare~lead singer, Perry Richardson~bassist, Bill Leverty~lead guitarist, and Michael Foster~drummer, make up the band. Firehouse started around 1988 or 89 I think. They have put out 5 albums, and hits including Don't Treat Me Bad, Love of a Lifetime, All She Wrote, and When I Look Into Your Eyes and each member does things outside the band. C.J. now enjoys scuba diving, Bill still writes and records in his home studio, Perry is a race car driver, and Michael owns his own record company. Back in the early 90s, Firehouse beat out NIRVANA as "Best new Hard Rock Band of the Year!" Firehouse's bassist Perry Richardson has left the band, and they now are touring with a new bassist.
MOTLEY CRUE... Members: Vince Neil~Vocals, Nikki Sixx~Bassist, vocals, Mick Mars~Lead Guitarist, Samantha Maloney~Drums. Past Members: Jon Corabi~Vocals, Tommy Lee~Drummer, Randy Castillo~Drummer. Formed in the early 80s. Was going to be called Christmas (that was Nikki's bright idea lol). Currently touring~no but Vince is doing solo stuff...The band had hits including: Dr. Feelgood, Home Sweet Home, Hell on Highheels, Wild Side, Too Fast for Love, Smokin' in the Boys Room, and many others.
BON JOVI
Bon Jovi is one of the greatest rock n roll bands of the 80s...the guys really know how to rock. The band has had great hits, including: Runaway, Bad Medicine, Livin' on a Prayer, You Give Love a Band Name, I'll Be There For You, Lay Your Hands On Me, Bed of Roses, Wanted Dead or Alive...and their brand new smash single It's My Life. Members: Jon Bon Jovi, lead guitarist Richie Sambora, key boardist David Bryan, and drummer Tico Torres. p>
CINDERELLA
Cinderella is a very cool band. I don't know that much about them but I'm in LOVE with their music... Hits included: Don't Know What You Got Til It's Gone, Shake Me, Gypsy Road, Nobody's Fool and others. BLACK CROWES
I've just recently became a fan of the Black Crowes, having bought their Greatest Hit's cd. It's an awesome CD, with great songs. Hits include: Jealous Again, Hard to Handle, Twice as Hard, Only a Fool, Stop Kickin' My Heart Around and She Talks to Angels. Members: Chris Robinson~Lead Singer, Jeff Cease~Lead Guitar, Johnny Colt~Bass, and Steve Gorman~Drums. They started around 1984, and they are known as the only band with REAL rocknroll. They have taken a break and aren't really together anymore.. How fun..good times :o)~
WINGER
Winger is another group I love. I was happy to see Dokken play because Reb was the guitar player for them for a while.Winger formed around the mid to late 80s. Had hits including Seventeen, Miles Away, Headed for a Heartbreak, Easy Come Easy Go, and others. Currently broken up...Members were Kip Winger~lead vocals, bass, Reb Beach~lead guitarist, vocals, Rob~Drummer, Paul~Rhythm guitar.Rob is now teaching at a college, as a drum professor. Kip is working on solo things...his wife died, and he now lives by himself, and writes and plays music. Reb is, as I said before, working with Dokken. As far as Paul..I don't know what happened to him. Winger is on tour with the original line up with Poison!! It was an awesome show...Kip still kicks major a$$ and can hit all the high notes that he could back in the day!! lol
UGLY KID JOE
Ugly Kid Joe, is like the funnest, rockinest band of all, forming in 1989...they have awesome lyrics which really become anthems in my everyday life! LOL Members: Whitfield Crane~Lead Vocals, Klaus Eichstadt~Lead Guitarist, Mark Davis~Drummer, Roger Lahr~Rhythm guitarist, and Cordell Crockett~Bass. Hits include: Funky Fresh County Club, Everything About You, Neighbor, and Madman. As far as staying together...I'm not too sure..but I know they aren't touring..darn huh? LOL
SLAUGHTER
Slaughter is an awesome band, I also don't know that much about. I love them anyway. I've only heard a few songs by them, and I've got them on tape on VH1's "Where are they now"? I do know, that their lead guitarist, was killed in a car accident...Tim Kelly, and they have a brand new guitarist, Jeff Blando. Mark Slaughter (lead singer, guitar) is very good at impersonating Wayne Newton, and he even did the voice for an animaniacs character. Blas Elias (drummer) does virtual tours of his car on the internet, and Dana Strum (bassist) sells houses and things.
SKID ROW
The Skids...how could ANYBODY not know who they are??? How could you forget them? I saw the Skids play live with KISS...without Sebastian...but...they are the LOUDEST frickin band I have EVER heard!! They completely blew me away!!! Skids are also a late 80s early 90s band. Hits included: 18 and a Life, I Remember You, Youth Gone Wild, Monkey Business, and Slave to the Grind. Current members: Johnny~lead singer, "Snake"~guitar, Scotti~lead guitar..and Rachel~bass?? Not sure..(yea Jason...go ahead..chew me out..LOL), and I forgot who the drummer was..yea I know..so shoot me! And Bas is doing solo stuff with "Sebastian Bach and Friends"
Salvation Through Redemption Yields Peace, Encouragement, and Righteousness. That's what Stryper stands for. Stryper is a band from the mid to late 80s...they're a Christian rock band, preaching the word of God through their inspiring and powerful songs. Members: Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet, Oz Fox, and Tim Gaines. Hits included Always There For You, Honestly, To Hell With the Devil, Soldiers Under Command and so on. Michael has his own solo project out, Robert has his own band called Lithium X, and Oz and Tim are in a band together called SINDIZZY.
