Wow!! This place was packed. Thankfully it didn't rain this year either. Got to see the official Poison racing car on display here. It's first run will be at the Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono on July 28th. For pictures and info on the driver Derrike Cope follow this link.
We never had tickets for the B (center) section before. They were so much better than the C (left) section that we had the previous years. I'm short and I could still see everything. I took a few pictures, but they didn't turn out so good. I'll probably put them up anyway eventually.
I found a newspaper article and review.
Ok, I have to admit, the new look for Faster Pussycat has grown on me. The combination of Tamie's sunglasses, military garb, cigarette, and little umbrella is mesmerizing. I love their rendition of Boots, and I dig the new song Hellbound. The guy sitting next to my boyfriend was totally bewildered. He just sat there, motionless, staring at them like he'd never seen something so bizarre. Same set as last time.
Winger has become a new favorite of mine. They are so good at what they do, and like the newspaper review said, you'd never know they were apart for 9 years. No technical difficulties this time either. They did Blind Revolution Mad, Madelaine, Can't Get Enough, Miles Away, Headed For a Heartbreak, Hungry, Rainbow in the Rose, You Are the Saint..., and Seventeen. Reb did a little solo (this guy is amazing), and so did Rod (who looks like a crazy person when he's wailing on the drums :-))
Cinderella quickly got the crowd to their feet. I was kind of disappointed when Tom did the same fainting thing that he did at Tower. It just seemed so staged this time. It was still a great show though. Night Songs is an intense live song (I need a shot of gasoliiiiiiiiiiiiine!) Tom didn't seem to be hitting the high notes like he usually does. I had heard he's been having some throat problems, gee I wonder why. It must be difficult to sing like he does on a nightly basis.
Duh nuh nuh, duh nuh nuh... You can always tell the Poison concert regulars. We all stand up and scream as soon as we hear Highway to Hell.
Once again, the band seemed to be extra hyped up to be playing in front of the hometown crowd. I noticed that right before they go into LWTCDI, they play a few bars from the beginning of Hollyweird. When I heard that, I was hoping they'd play it, but unfortunately they didn't. I don't understand why they took it out when they were playing it earlier in the tour. It's a great tune and I'm guessing that it sounded even better live. They were filming the audience in the middle of the show and Bret mentioned that we'd be in a live DVD.
CC did his usual before solo banter. He had the crowd chanting "Fuckin-A right, motherfucker" which was of course making everyone laugh. Most of the people knew his Emperor's New Clothes song and were singing along with him. Someone made a banner that said "CC is a God". CC then said "but I'm dyslexic, so to me it says CC is a dog. Uh oh!"
After the show, there was a little bit of a wait before us fan club members got to go back. This wait was probably the shortest one yet. We were standing along side of Bret's big blue bus and then Rob, one of their security guys, comes out with a big cooler full of beer for everyone. I just think it was so nice of them to do that! Especially since I was dying of thirst at the time. I drank it pretty fast because I was so thirsty, forgetting that the only thing I had to eat for the past six hours was half of a soft pretzel. I was pretty buzzed by the time Bret started seeing us. My boyfriend and I both took pictures with him, and he signed the back of my shirt. I told him he was really going apeshit out there on stage, which he thought was pretty funny. We told him to look for us in the second row at Holmdel and said goodbye.

Instead of the usual scanned bunch of confetti, I thought I'd show what it looks like in action.
