Lupin III - Sansei Pandora no Hihou
If you're old (I'm not), a big nerd (I'm not a BIG nerd, but a nerd nontheless), or reading this past January 13, 2003, you've probably heard of the anime Lupin III. It's an action-comedy movie in some way, but I'm not sure how. If you haven't heard of Lupin III, here's the basic plot: Mr. Arsene Lupin is the third in a family line of master thieves. Along with his two friends, Jigen Daisuke and Ishikawa Goemon (GOEMON! I smell a lawsuit), they steal stuff. In this game, though, the item is called, "Pandora's Treasure," or something like that. There's a girl, or something, who died and has the treasure thingy, and so you have to use all three people to go get it. Of course, Zinigata, the guy trying to catch the three, has dispatched the latest in thief-busting technology, including Freddy Kreuger ninjas, Bobba Fett snipers, and Kuroneko impersonators (black cats, for you anti-Trigun people) Somehow, you've got to survive this crazy onslaught of technology, and find Pandora's Treasure. Good luck, because I sure can't.
- Graphics: Go back to Atari 5800, Namco. (4).
- Sound: The music is the sort of thing you'd expect from an anime game. Or, perhaps not. (7)
- Gameplay: It's tough to say, but I've never seen another game that works like this one. At least, I don't think so...(9).
- Overall rating: 6.7
Comment: In this crazy anime world, ruled by DBZ and Hamtaro, it's good to see some classic anime like this. GO MONKEY PUNCH!
